What do you do with a family that just fights all the time

How do you have family gathering if noone has a kind word to say to eachother? It is just tearing my mother up inside that noone gets along. She just wishes that her daughters could just get along for one day in one room ands have a peaceful dinner with her. She loves all of her daughters equal and tryes to be there for them. I am greatful for my mothers help. And I hope someday she gets her wish.

It is difficult. I know because me and my sisters fought like cats and dogs. I think it is typical. It is still difficult for me and my older sister to not get into an arguement when we get together. It is because we are so much alike yet so different. We are alike in the respect that we like to argue, are both way too stubborn and extremely competitive. As far as everything else, we are exact opposites. Perhaps your mom will just find peace in the fact that this is the very reason why most sisters fight. Someone has to be strong enough to hold their tongue when disagreements are brought up.
