My son also when through this at around 18 months. His daycare at the time made me come get him and told me he could not come back until he had a note from the doctor. My doctor told me that kids around that age go through some stage that is referred to as toddler diarrhea. Doctors don't know why they start going so much, but it is not an illness that is contagious. She then wrote a note to the daycare saying that going 5 or 6 times a HOUR is considered diarrhea not 5 or 6 times a DAY.

It depends how much she eats, it's probably more normal. My son does like two per day, but what that child eats could be playing a part on how much comes. Lol noseplug/pegs don't normally work :P

What goes in has to come out! Only thing you can do is make the best of it! I had my 22 month grand daughter this weekend and she went about 3 times each day. One time we were coloring (had my 7 yo GD to) and she smelled and I asked her "do you need dry pants?" she said "no!". I laughed and gave her another minute (she was so eagerly intent on learning to color!) and then said again " I think you need dry pants. Do you need dry pants?" she spouted off with "No". We laughed some more as we knew she did - smells don't deceive! So Iasked again and she again said no. Last time I said, "okay, I think you need dry pants. Do you want dry pants or do you want to stink?" She looks at me very seriously and says "stink!" After we all laughed till we were crying, she got dry pants!

I'd rather have some rubber gloves than nose plugs...after 12 straight years of cleaning up poop I can't smell it anymore...at least not enough to nauseate me lol. At least you only have one child there pooping that often...and you get a break from her I assume. I have 3 little boys at home and they all seem to poop alot. My middle one poops large amounts twice a day at least. The baby/toddler does his little poops 3-4 times at least and the older one has been pooping 3 or more times a day...and his is worse because he's plenty old enough to be potty trained so we make him wear underwear even though he still refuses to use the potty. I feel like I'm dealing with poop from one kid or another at every round of diaper changes...sometimes all 3 at once!

I don't remember my two boys having this bowel problems. My little one who is going five month old, had his bowel pattern at 3 month old at least once to twice a day.Now it's once daily. He was on S26 Gold milk formula and I had some constipation and gases issue on this type of milk my son is experiencing. When my doctor told me to shift to a lactose free formula milk, pooping time is regularly established, once daily.I guess, milk formula is one factor that the kid is taking to make his pooping frequent.Or better yet, there might be some underlying congenital bowel illness undetected.i think, the parents should see a physician to check out what seem to be the problem.Consistency of diarrheal episodes resemble to a yellowish-greenish kind of stools. Also, shifting from one milk formula to the another frequently is not good.Well, have the parents of the child aware of such frequent bowel motion?
