I ran an Adware scan and it found all this stuff that I don't need on my computer, including tracking cookies, so I allowed it to be quarantined.
Then when I went to my home page itdidn't know who I was. Well I've had that home page a long time, but forgot what my original user name was, and guessed. I guessed incorrectly, so I was considered a new user. "Oh no!" I thought all my email addresses had been wiped out, and all my emails are going to bounce.
Then it hit me. Maybe I had used a different user name on my home page. I signed out and signed back in with my other user name and -- all my stuff came back! What a relief, LOL.

that was close! in my old computer, i also installed adware to prevent me from being infected of spyware and other viruses. what happened was that program was itself infected by spyware. i could not get away with it. so i had to reinstall everything again. i hate those free programs that promised something and not delivering but damaging your pc instead.

That happened to me once. It looked so legitimate. Turned out it WAS the virus. I had to take my computer to the shop to get it cleaned up.
