One of my toenails has stopped growing...help!

The second toe nail (from small toe) on my left foot has stopped growing...why is this? Its coloured a bit darker than the rest. Its not coming off or anything so its not like there's a new nail underneath...anyone got any suggestions or explanations?

it sounds like it may have a fungal infection. don't quote me on that, but I'd call your doctor and ask if you need medication (pills supposedly work better than topical) to treat it.
