What can a person do if he gets somebodya bank account No?

My brother made a friend in chat room 2 months back.He lives in other city...He asked my brother to give him his bank account No so that he can transfer money(Rs 7000) from his accaount to my brothers account as he wants my brother to buy a book and corier him and spend the remainin g money as he instructs my brother.

I can't believe your brother would trust a stranger over the internet with such confidential information! I'm not sure if a regular Joe could do anything with the account number however I'm sure there are people out there with bad intentions and the ability to make your brother's financial situation a bad one!
