how to be a good guitarist?

Is this a trick question? It takes practice, learning and playing around, the best thing to do is pick up a guitar and strum it and don't stop until your bored and then keep doing it day in and out. You know, we soon learn to pick up things and we do tend to get better but it takes time. I remember when I first got my electric guitar, I was so keen to learn to play all of blink 182's songs that I got put off when I could only make them sound horrible. Later I picked it up and practiced and what sucked before started to improve. ~Joey
