The Canadian Military is one of the best in the World not to toot our own horns of course but I do agree with the gentleman before me military spending is very poor and unfortunatly this poor funding is putting Canadian Soldiers at risk on every mission whether it is faulty helicopters, very old jeeps or what ever have you. I think that it would be wise for the government to at least double spending to the Canadian Military so we can have a safer more effective fighting force.

Canada could make its contribution more productive abroad. Instead of sending combat-unit, Canada could take part to stop war, establish peace-zone and to do some protective-task for people that become the main victims of the cruel war!

We *did* burn down the white house. Some people will say that int he war of 1812 it was Britain who did it. Which is technically true, you see Canada was still part of Britain back then...
Now our military is very well trained, always has been. Our problem, in my opinion of course, is we don't get the funds we need. I'm sure there's a reason for that in the fact that we've not had a use for a standing military in god only knows how many years. Pretty much everything we've done is peace keeping or just helping out. Unlike a certain neighbor to the south that seems to have a war every decade, no offense intended USA... but it's a fairly accurate statement. Anyway due to the shortage of money being sent in we can't afford all the equipment we need or to do proper maintenance. This is reflected in a certain experimental helicopter... our submarine that caught fire and the fact that we spent I forget how long int he desert, in forest camouflage... Despite this though we are trained very well, the only thing that's going to stop one of our troops is a tavern.
