The North American Rally Championships are sponsored by Rally-America. The season begins the end of each January in Atlanta Mi. with the Sno*Drift Rally and ends in October in Houghton, MI with the Lake Superior Performance Rally. This is affectinately referred to as "Real cars, Real roads, Real fast!" The range of participation starts at the grassroots level with regional participants who enter on shoestring budgets and progresses up to national teams with major automotive sponsorships. We count Travis Pastrana as our newest "convert" as well as Kyle Sarasin as our hometown star.
These competitions are run in street prepared cars, with a few additions such as roll cages, on mostly dirt roads covering various road conditions. To accomplish these events we rely heavily on volunteers to marshall stage routes, start control, finish control, timing control, and even down to banner taping. We get permission from state, county and federal authorities to use certain sections of the routes for which we are held to exacting standards.
I have been involved with the LSPR (Lake Superior Performance Rally) since 1996. I am currently the Registrar, but I have been Stage Captain, Marshall, Start/Finish Control, MTC, Parc Expose', and general fan.

Rally championships I used to like them but it is also a bit scary to me. The way cars twists and turns scares me a lot. But it is a lot of fun. When I get time I watch it on television. This is very good news .... sounds very exciting to me and shall keep a tab on the championship. Thanks.

Now that sounds like a lot of fun... Where can I go to find out more (like dates and times) because I live just 15 minutes from Niagara Falls and I've been looking for some local Rally info.
