I have been really sick the last few days. I really need to get over it fast because I don't want my son to catch it. I have tried taking Theraflu and Alka-Seltzer Cold and Sinus but it doesn't seem to be working all that much. What is a good cold medicine that will get rid of the cold fast? I have a stuffy nose, sore throat, headaches, and the worst is a horrible cough.

For a stuffy nose my favorite thing to take is Sudafed. Not the stuff you can get on the shelf either. That stuff does not work. You have to get the stuff from the pharmacy. Hot tea with honey is good for a sore throat and will help soothe the cough. Make sure you take some vitamins to help you get over the cold quicker too. Vitamin C and Zinc are the ones my sister is always telling me to take.

You know, I was looking a couple months back for those little Vitamin C tablets that make water into a fizzy orange drink, and I found them, but only in packs of like, 2000 for 25-30 bucks! I don't want that many. Do you know of anywhere I can get the smaller packs of those?

They have this stuff at Wal-Mart Called Emergen-C. They have it in a few different flavors I think. It comes in boxes of like 36. I am not too sure how much they cost though.

The stuff I mentioned above is a powder packet that you mix in water by the way.

We are getting over a similar situation here. We took lots of Vitamin C and some zinc. Now this isn't a cure all, but it did help us feel better. Hot tea with honey and lemon helped with the sore throat. And for nite time we used NYQuil. Don't know about you, but it knocks me out. More sleep, better faster. DayQuil during the day. Just the general stuff. Make sure the tea is HOT.

I will definitely have to try the hot tea with honey, but Nyquil is out, because my baby is only two months old, so I can't be too zonked out. I will have to get some honey though, and try that tea thing. My husband has about 400 different kinds floating around here, so I have plenty to choose from.
