As half of my time I spent in church only, so Priest called us to do some decorations of the church for christmas and make the crib...!!
Actually that was a trap to make us do confession before christmas..!!! :P:P
Priest got me and my cousin bro in side the confession making room and we where not allowed out until we make the confession..!!:P:P
Actually we are very friends with our parish priest so ..its all very friendly..!!
But don't you think one should get prepared first before making any confessions.. I wasn't even prepared.
I felt like I made a pointless confession!!!!
What do you have to say about this?

Hmmm
Hi stella
i never experienced it, i mean in church though we exactly know that what we are doing is right or wrong as we have conscious to judge it. and if we analyse our daily routine when in bed then i am sure we might be confessing everything daily
However, i would love top know what was ur confession, (wink)
Take care

I agree with you it was pointless. Now don't get me wrong i do believe in God, and all that, but to me it should come from the heart and from your own time, not because someone made you do it..I think worship and confession should come whenever you are ready to make that confession, and when you feel ready.I am sure that the priest meant no harm but i do believe he was not right for doing this to you.If he ask you if you would like to and you don't at that time then he should not have pushed the issue...You felt it was pointless because it was not the right time for you,but God understands how you feel,so do not feel bad about it because it was pointless...

Well i would not say it was wrong, i mean God sees all things and he saw the situation that the priest had you in, but i think that it would have meant more had you did it when you were ready instead of how it happened..I would not concern myself with it , i mean you did obey the man of God..I do not think that you did anything wrong...So do not worry..

When one thinks about it in the proper light, confession is a good thing. Although God knows us inside out, we very often don't (or choose not to!) Confession teaches us to recognise ourselves in humility. That is a very good exercise, on the whole. The thing that I DON'T like about confession (and a lot of the way that Christianity is taught) is that it concentrates on the negative, whereas I feel that we should be concentrating on the positive things about our relationship with God. It is certainly good to recognise our weak points but we should be learning from them and using them as stepping stones.
I think your priest was a little sneaky to 'force' you to make a confession, even though he did it in a friendly manner. However, he probably sees himself as your teacher and guide, teaching you what he considers the proper way to approach God. Sometimes one does have to be made to do something in order to learn!

Yes you are absolutely correct..!!
Thats why I am balming no one ..!!
Priest was correct in his place and I was also correct in mine..!!
Its just something depends on one's way of thinking..!!
I felt very good that finally some one can get me to make confession but ... I didn't confess honestly..!!

I think it would be better if you have known and you really want to confess and you are really sorry for all your sins and that is why you confess it. You have somehow prepare your self. If I would confess I don't want to confess into a priest I know. I want that God knows how really sorry I am. And I can confess all of my sins. In that way the feeling is nice and it you are free from the burden of sins.

Yes that a good idea ..!!
I always confess to my GOd whenever I feel like but..still making a confession to a priest thats the criteria for chirstans and I find it necessary too.

confession is admitting that you are sinner and tell what you have done before the church/priest, but it is actually should be to God alone.confession thru intimidation or anyother method is not good, this should deep from your heart.

No as I already said before it was just very friendly..!! I mean I would have easily said "no" right on his face, but that would be very rude to a priest. Our priest just made us do confession like a mother forces her kid to make confession when they just took that sacrament.. I mean like when you are young you don't exactly know the value of things so you are kind of forced to do things like that!!
SO what I am saying that priest just behaved with me like I am 10yr old girl..!! who doesn't know the value of making confession.

In my opinion your priest should not be coercing anyone to make confession as this is wrong and one should not be doing something on a 'guilt-trip' from someone else.
Confession that does not come about from 'conviction' from your own feelings of remorse and wrongdoing is wasted confession because the person is not sorry.
It is like someone saying sorry to another when they do not mean it - it just false.
I also reckon this gives the various churches a bad name and reputation of how one should conduct their personal faith - afterall it is not man we need to confess our mistakes to but to the Lord Jesus Christ who has the power, love and concern for each of us to take away our feelings of guilt. No man can do this.

I am sorry, Stella, I don't think making someone confess is right, even in a friendly manner. How sincere can your confession be, if forced?

The confession initiative must come ffrom the individual. Priests are far from perfect. He was not sensitive to the fact that you did not need an intermediary to talk to God and that you where at peace with him.
Perhaps he was more concern on personal issues. Just be you, God bless you.
