I'm currently reading forbidden pleasure by beatrice small. The book is about a writer who publishing company tells her she has to write a sexier book or else they won't renew her contract, another twist is her long time editor retires and leaves her with a male editor.. The main character Emily is having a fit over this, but she has to write sexier. The book goes on about her quest to make her next book and win the man of her dreams all in one. It a great romance book actually only have about 20 pages to go. Have a nice night.

At the moment I am just finishing "Dark Alchemy". It is a collection of short stories about Wizards and Magic by the "modern masters of Sci Fi and Fantasy". It's a really great book, and I'm glad that I invested in it. I'm not sure what I'm going to read next. Probably a novel of some description. The last book I read before this was "Water for Elephants". It was set in the 1930-40's train-circuses and follows the story of an orphan who joins them. It was probably the most outstanding novel I have read in the past`few years. Brilliant, brutal, beautiful. =) Mal.

I'm reading "By The Light of the Moon" by Dean Koontz. It's about two people that were both injected with a mysterious substance by a strange doctor. They are starting to develop interesting abilities while on the run for their lives.

hi subha! ^__^ i haven't read Anne Frank's diary but i have seen a play based on that book back when i was in college. and i have also seen a movie based on that book too. yeah, it was really compelling and very dramatic. it was a very touching movie. the book i'm currently reading is The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice. i have been reading it for a long time now but i haven't been able to finish it because i am so absorbed on watching anime and jdorama series at crunchyroll. ^__^;; and also because of myLotting. My favourite book by Ann Rice is "The Mummy".
8 Jan 08
Ooh, Lestat is a brilliant book! Much better than Interview with the Vampire. A lot of Anne Rice's fans quote it as the best, though in my opinion Memnoch the Devil is her best book, followed closely by Armand. Which is odd, because lestat is my favourite character and he features little, even in Memnoch which he 'wrote.' Read any of her other books?

Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter - Picture of Rubin "the Hurricane" Carter
I'm reading a book called The Sixteenth Round. It's a book about Rubin "The Hurricane" Carter. A story about his life and what happened thoughout the years. He went from being the number 1 contender (boxing). He spent the beginning of his life in jail for the magority of the time. It's a really good book and it's a true story.

When Hurricane came out with Denzel Washington a few years ago, I got interested in reading more about his life and how he came to that point. I even got to watch the movie Hurricane as well. Denzel really gave a great performance. But how he was a boxing contender and then ended up in jail on a flimsy rap was just a sad thing. Interesting.

I seen the movie and thought it was great. I wanted to learn more about what he had to experience and endure over his life in jail and what not. That's why I am reading the book and I am happy that I did. It's a great book.

I actually just started another book. I had just finished Blue Dalhia by Nora Roberts and I'm waiting on the second part called Black Rose to come in so I can continue on reading that one. But this one I just started is called Wicked Woman by Denise Eagan. I haven't really gotten far enough into it yet to tell you what it's about. I'll type what is says on the back of the book though just to give you an idea. A perfect lady... To catch a thief, you must set a trap...and Captain Ward Montgomery is amazed to find out that the intruder in his house is none other than Morgan Turner, the Englishwoman he'd so admired--and secretly lusted for--during a previous ocean voyage. What to do? He cannot resist the young widow's brazen proposal that she make herself at home in his bed... Except for her past...Morgan was raised a lady, but she's a wanted woman now, despite her innocence. She has nowhere to turn but to Ward and no other choice but to become his paramour. But his fiery passion soon captures her, body and soul. She must tell him the truth. If she is discovered, not even the man who's stolen her heart will be able to save her... I think it sounds like a pretty good book but I'm not far enough in it to tell you for sure yet. My mother in law actually gave this to me in my stocking for christmas because she knows I love to read.

Oh subha, I read that Frank. I loved it. I've read it since, a couple of times. It was her diary that put the idea into my own mind that writing diaries was a good thing and the result is that I've been doing it ever since. I'm into quite a few books at any given time but lots of my books are like that...big reference books on all sorts of subjects...one never finishes with them I've found. I'm also reading a couple of self help spiritual books, a beginners book on Paganism and a contemporary whodunit novel.

At present, I am reading the current Essence magazine. I saw the latest copy in Walmart last night, and I had to get it. I also bought a couple of books as well, but not sure which one to get into first. I wanted them too, now I'm like well, hold up. One book I just finished recently that I was quite impressed with was The Bond: Three Young Men Reconnect and Learn to Forgive Their Fathers by The Three Doctors that wrote their first book, The Pact. They live in Newark, NJ, lived in the inner city and overcame some serious obstacles to become doctors. The first book spoke on that. This book I just finished spoke about their relationships with their fathers and how it, well basically the lack of it affected their lives. What stunned me was the fact that not having a man in their lives affected how they reacted socially like how to play ball, how to tie a tie, a shoe, or even how to navigate in a relationship. Two of them spoke on how hard it was to get in a relationship. One saw his parents argue and he felt that was the way you had to deal with challenges, and it cost him later on. I could go on, but it's a good book.

I'm currently read two fiction books. The first is Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose which is a murder mystery set in a monastary during the early 1300's. It is jam packed full of philosophy, theology, church history and language. The characters are ALWAYS debating with each other. You may have seen the movie starring Sean Connery and Christian Slater. The second, well it's a series of books; Honoo no Mirage by Kuwabara Mizuna. Again, lots of medieval history, this time Japanese, and myth. It's BASICLY about warriors reincarnated to fight other reincarnated warriors... but there's a whole lot more than that. The characters and relationships (and the emotions they go through in those relationships) are the best I have found in any fiction, eastern or western.

I have read "The Diary od Anne Frank" several time. I get something different each time. You might like to read "The Hiding Place" by Cory Temboom. She and her sister were hiding Jews in their home in Holand. They were caught and sent to Triblanka. At the presant time I'm reading John Wycliff an early church leader that rebels against the catholic church. He is also an early bible translater.

Hi Subha, I am actually trying to finish a novel, in our local language.. which i had actually started reading MONTHS AGO. It is an interesting story about a village headman, who is victim of a 'political game' put in place by his own jealous cousin to get him terminated... and preferably transfered to another state. I am actually really dying to find out how the story progresses, but somehow cannot find the time to just sit down and read.... Worse yet,... i borrowed the book, and i need to return it to the owner soon..... :( take care.

am reading digital fortress by Dan Brown.it is about the NSA who have their servers hacked by a dismissed ordinary worker.thats even when they have the GAUNTLET (the unique, most powerful machine in the whole world that protects US's classified documents) in place.it's a race against time as the worm infested servers begin to open up to anyone who uses the internet.
