Email Alerts on discussions

Would like to know : when anyone posts a discussion then will i automatically receive an email alert? or do i have to join discussions and interests to get email alerts? please advice asap

The only email alerts you will receive to your inbox are discussions that you take part in. A discussion that you have started and people have replied to it or discussions that you replied to. You will also get an email alert if someone sends you a message to your inbox. These are the 3 that I get email alerts on anyway.

Thanks a lot which means i have to keep coming here on this website in order to know what all discussions are taking place so that i can participate - am i correct?

There are thousands and thousands of discussions here and to participate in others that the ones that you are in then yes you have to come to the site.

Yuo can invite other to be your friend and make it on for alerts so you will recieve alerts on every new post of your friends and for that you can response to them.

The e-mail alerts are mostly coming from those of whcih you have participated and legitimately responded at, as just what the pervious poster has mentioned. Also, you get to be notified if ever you have friends that started discussions.
In case you already have friends, simply go to your "friends" section and activate their notifiers to ON..
