What Profession Do Others Hate The Most?

I read an article a couple days ago where they listed the top 10 most distrusted professions and I agreed with most (see the list below). The 2 I would add to the list are Internet Marketers (ones who makes all these rubbish claims about all the money the could help you make) and people who sell on eBay. I’ve been burnt 2 times on eBay, where I paid for stuff and later found out there were bogus auctions or the product was not “real”, but mere copies. BTW, I got my money back after a couple years and reports to the FBI department who looks after internet fraud.
Who would you add to the list of professions you distrust?
Here is the list according to the article I read:
10. Police Officer
9. Journalist
8. Celebrities
7. Handymen (with sticky fingers)
6. Agent/Manager
5. Telemarketers
4. Lawyer
3. Mechanic
2. Politician
1. Used car salesman

Here's my views..
10. Police Officer; I'm not surprised, it's either they do nothing or go overboard or it's the good old crinimals who dislike them.
9. Journalist; Should be further up, they're only out for themselves 9/10 times.
8. Celebrities; People are jelous, it's simple. others are rude..
7. Handymen; (with sticky fingers) Right on, so it should be.
6. Agent/Manager; Don't get me started, mine is a lieing peice of sh*t.
5. Telemarketers; Could they get more annoying by harrasing us?
4. Lawyer; Wow.. this has to because they got someone off scott free like micheal jackson..
3. Mechanic; I'm lost these guys are mostly friendly..
2. Politician; Liars...
1. Used car salesman; Ditto..
I'm surprised with some, personally I thought I'd see traffic wardens or pub landlords. or actually housing landlords but I could name office workers, door to door salesman, window cleaners. the list continues,
~Joey

You made some Good points here for sure. I would agree with a lot of your comments. Another one that is annoying is Spammers. Maybe they should be towards the top of this list, or the ones who SCAM us via Email as well.

Joey! Thank you for your comment on mechanics! For the entire 22 years I've been in the trade, we have always battled with lawyers for 3 -5 place on the list. Yet 90% of us do an honest repair. So it is very refreshing to see that there is one person on this planet that thinks a little higher of us than those who answer the polls! Any advice your seek, just ask me! It's on the house!

Mine is already on the list... Journalists. I guess there are still a few professional ones out there, but most are scummier than the worst shyster lawyer.

This is an interesting way to look at it, and Yes, it does seem like most are out there just to see what dirty scandoulous stuff they can find out there to print. The problem is, how much of it is slanderous, and how much is truth is for sure.

It would definately have to be what their heart and conscience feels for sure, and the type of money, etc. involved in getting the type of stories a lot of them are trying to Write and portray. In some ways, you could really be onto something here.

I haven't seen any evidence to show that they care if what they are reporting actually happened or not.

i think the list stated by you is enough in all respects. according to me the most distrusted profession is police officer and politician. basically these two professions are responsible for the degradation of a country and are the greatest hindrance in its development too....

I have to agree on telemarketers.
I have to say Car Salesmen in general ... not just used car salesmen.
Oh and collection agency reps.

I'm with you on the internet frauds = I got to the point where I just figure if they offer the world and ask for money then they are frauds. Even then I'm still leary of my time involved or recommending to others. Even with myLot I didn't promote until I received my first payment but it helped being able to talk to others who had already received payments.

no profession is good or bad.one has to earn money through his or her profession.things which matter most of us is that one should always speak the truth and should not lie for small gains.

Mine is probably number 2 which is "Politician" . I live in the Philippines and there's really lots of politicians here who are corrupt, who abuse, cheat, and steal money from the government. After being under a dictator for 20 years, Filipinos have been so cautious in selecting political leaders. Presidents here specifically Marcos and Estrada abused their powers .. and all those bad things. I don't wanna think about it anymore.
I hate politicians especially those who are secretly stealing money from our government. But then again, I can't really do anything about it but just hope that "that" particular politician don't turn out to be corrupt and also turn out as a wrong vote for me.

Well, I think this is becoming a number one issue no matter what country you live in anymore, and us here in the US have to hope this as well.

I think being an insurance sales will be very annoying. As I don't trust them and they keep bother you all the time. So whenever I heard anyone who works as an insurance sales, I will try to avoid seeing them again.

I would add quacks, doctors who are so bad they are
called quacks. otherwise the list is complete but
I do not think police officer should be on that list
as should not most people be grateful to the police
except for crooks of course.

I think Idistrust politiciansthe most just like dear old Pres Bush who got us into a war that never seems to end. I dont know just how many of my friends have sons,or grandsons orgranddaughter stuck in Iraq and they are worried sick that some idiot will sacrifice his own life and the life of their loved one because they believe in Islam. so I would have to save a politician. Telemarketers come in second specially the ones who call just as I am sitting down to eat.

I had been a CEO of a distribution company and presently I am running my own business and therefore I like to be boss for my firm and run the show. I love taking responsiblity and target and everwilling to achieve the targets. I donot hate any job. One cannot predict tomorrow what job would I would land in. I am prepared for any job as long as I get the required money. - a decent working atmosphere is all I ask.

I think your list is great. I would agree with every one of those. I would add new car salesmen to the list as well as the used car ones. They are equally sneaky and out to take their customers. And the media -- don't let me even get started there. I think they are totally disgusting.

I don't have any more professions that I don't trust. I would list them differently. 1. The writers of school text books. I have a real problem with these people as they perptuates the myths of history and science.2. Journalists 3.Telemarketer 4. politician 5.Celebrities

Is this a US list? If so, I am surprised that Police Officers rate at number 1.
In australia I am fairly sure that Police Officers wouldn't rate at all in the top 10.
Over here, I thu\ink car salesmen & polticians would rate the highest.

I would have to add the Media, you know the ones, a devasting incident occurs and they are the one in the family's face asking that stupid question of questions 'Your loved one was just killed in a horrific accident, how do you feel?" I mean come on, they would not want to ask me that, they would have to beep me out! lol As for number 10. Police officer, hmmmmm, I find the ones that most hate them, gee, let's just say 'how many arrests to you have on record?' lol

Mine would be no. 2, politician. I live in the Philippines and politicians most likely own big houses and lots of money. For a country like the Philippines, people here think all politicians are currupt judging by their lifestyle. That is why we, the Filipinos, conduct people power revolution. To overthrow these currupt leaders just like we did to former president Ferdinand Marcos and Joseph Estrada.
Journalism on the other hand is the most feard profession. Journalists who report dirty deeds by politicians are silenced here without the rule of law. It's a human rights violation that is still unsolved till now.
