Yes you are right. Today is Orthodox Christmas to many of the orthodox cristians not just russian but Macedonians, Serbs.... We still use the old calendar when it comes to the religion some like Greeks and Bulgarians have canged some of the calendar so most holidays are celebrated by the new calendar (where 1st of January is 1st of january not like we do it where 14th of january is our New Year) hope this helps a bit
