BLOOD PRESSURE - MONITOR BP AT HOME
Garlic is also supposed to improve the elasticity of the blood vessels and keep blood pressures within normal ranges.

Digestive problems such as heartburn in pregnancy, are usually a problem with pregnancy, not garlic, per say.

I had no idea that it was a natural antibiotic or helps kill bacteria. Thank you for that information. I do not know any uses for garlic unfortunately.

I have heard Garlic is good for a lot of things, but have not done any Research as I personally do not want to go around smelling like Garlic all of the time. But maybe it might not hurt me to do some research on this?

There are garlic pills that take away the odor of garlic from one's pores, but these compounds also have beneficial qualities.

Garlic works wonders on a toothache. If you have a small cavity or whatever, you just place a tiny piece of garlic on or into the spot and like magic, within no time the pain is drawn out. I have done this before and it truly was my sanity saver when nothing...including Darvocet, nor Percoset would kill the pain.

Maybe the garlic draws out pus in an abcess, and the pressure and pain are relieved.

That's good to know! Be careful to not allow garlic directly on skin (gums in this case), as it is known to irritate the skin cells with prolonged direct contact.

Check out Rachael Ray's website. She uses fresh garlic in almost everything she makes. You can get some really good recipes there. I made a cheese ravioli vegetable lasagna from her recipe. There was a lot of garlic in it as well as eggplant, zucchini, and other good things. My husband said that if I would cook like that all the time he'd quit eating meat. My son is a vegetarian, and he loved it.

One of the best cooking aromas, that can be in your kitchen, is garlic and ginger root, frying together in a skillet with oil before adding other ingredients to make a stir fry...the smell is fantastic!

There are garlic pills, some have had the "stink" taken away, but it is the "stinky" compounds that have the most medicinal properties!

There just has been a discussion about that. Garlic seems to be good for nothing. Some science seem to have proved that.

What science proves garlic is good for nothing? Garlic is known to lower blood cholesterol, for one thing.

Garlic is good for alot of things. If u eat garlic alot you are more likely not to get sick since it helps you build up your imune system and keeps the germs from infecting you. I have also heard that it is good for all kinds of infections.. I try to eat alot of it, and I even have capsels of it, that way I do not smell... =)

Yes, garlic reduces blood pressure, lowers bad cholesterol levels, stimulates the immune system, gets rid of parasites, and now, I just learned, here, that it makes a great shampoo additive as well! I can't wait for the recipe!

I used to grow garlic in my garden. Planted near roses, garlic helps repel aphids. And when I wanted flavor in cooking, I cut the green tops alittle like scallion greens. Garlic fresh out of the garden, not dried, is sweet tasting.

I load up on almost raw garlic each time I feel like I am about to catch colds or flu, doesn't always work but I have not taken antibiotic in many many years. I have read that it is effective against athletes foot but I have not tried it.

When I was pregnant I had really really bad hayfever, and of course I couldn't take normal antihistamines, so I took garlic (and vitamin C and small doses of cinnamon), all of wihch are natural antihistamines.
