Computer Virus Protection !

Okay, I am unable to pay for Virus Protection for my computer right now. A lot of them that I look up say that they are free. They all scan my computer for free but when you try to fix whatever problems it found, they ask you to pay for it. Are there any FREE Virus Scanners????

The best free virus scanner in my opinion is the Bitdefender anitvirus v 10. Its really free and much better than the others.

There is some free antivirus the most famous is the AVG, http://free.grisoft.com/ and it is known to be efficient and up-to-date.
Other solutions are web-based scans like TrendMicro not sure if elimination is out of charge http://housecall.trendmicro.com.
A new option is the PCLive Security created by the author of PC for Dummies, www.pclive.com
