I know quite a lot of people who always panic, always hurry in everything they do, it's like there's no tomorrow anymore. I understand that we should "live life like there's no tomorrow" - that is make the best out of it. But some people abuse that saying. I mean, just like my mom, she always is in a hurry without having to hurry about it. She just got used to always being in a hurry and even hurries other people as well.
This morning she knocked on my door and said "Hurry! It's already late we have to go to work" It was just like 7:30 in the morning and I was still sleepy. I don't think it's proper yet what can I do? She's my mom!!
Do you know any people like this?
How do you deal with them?
Thanks

My spouse is always in a hurry...whether getting ready for the office...or coming back from a market place....she would always say - common...we are getting late...there is no time...please hurry up.....then I say you are always in a hurry...please let me know...when you are not in a 'hurry'......LOL!
Very Good Post indeed!

Hello dear glitzypurple. My father is also the type of person who loves to hurry up and make me hurry in doing things. I think that it is good for us to sometimes hurry without delaying what we are doing. This way we can always finish realizing our aims in life one by one in a faster way and at an earlier date. So I can understand how you feel when your mother urges you to hurry, my dear friend.

What time are you supposed to be at work? I suppose it depends on the time...although it would be nice if people would just slow down sometimes. Nobody tends to do that anymore, and it shows in all the new technologies we have.

I am always in a hurry. Sometimes it is hard to slow down and smell the roses. I think though that life is getting faster and it won't get any easier.

I beleive she is always many things to do and she need to finish them all so she in a hurry,,, you cannot change it because she is your mother, tha only thing that you need to do is help her in doing household shores and let her relax too..after she can have sometime to sleep good and she will wake up early and not in a hurry..

Always remember these are elder people in siblings, I mean elder brother elder sister, I don't know why I observed that elder amongst siblings makes them panic and always in hurry to do things, if this is the same thing that you observed then let me know about.

My mother in law is always in a hurry or seems to be, but she never stops to just sit down or anything she's just always go go go, and to me, i like to take my time if i'm going to do something and do it the right way instead of doing 6 things half@ss'd all at once. lol. She is always so "busy" doing god knows what, but is almsot always late. And she says I FLY BY THE SEAT OF MY PANTS. cause i just let things happen, if we gotta stop somewhere on the way so be it. If plans change So be it. If i dont make plans and just play it by ear, so be it! I like things simple and not rushed. I certainly am glad she lives far away, she would drive me to drink i think!

It does not bother me. I usually tell them they have plenty of time, but I am one of those who want to be at a certain place on time. I am the type that when I really should go, lets say it takes me ten minutes to get there, I find something to do and then I am late. I therefore have to get there ahead of time. Your mother may be like me. She knows that if it takes thirty minutes to get there, a few seconds before that thirty minutes, something will come up unexpected that she has to do. She prefers leaving early. It also could that she has failed to consider that it does not take as long a time to take the car as it does to take the bus.

I know a lot of people like this, they leave everything to the last minute, then try to do it all!
I myself, am never in a hurry, but i stay busy doing something, I just start everything ahead of time on a schedule! The military is responsible for this, everything they do, is on a schedule!

Well I actually do have a problem with sleeping in so my family phones me to wake me up. I actually appreciate that. My mom quite often does things that annoy me, like try and tell me to do something that is obvious. I just smile and nod most of the time.
Yes society is always in a hurry now. Everything is go go go. The internet brings it all right here fast. Drive through banks, food, coffee, and even pharmacies. Automated cashier, and bank machines. You're mom isn't the only one in a hurry.
I think you're right though. Its good to stop and take your time. We sometimes are so busy trying to get somewhere we forget to relax and enjoy the ride.

I don't know how you can deal with your mom in this situation other than to tell her not to worry about you and you will get up on your own. Then to show her you mean it, get an alarm clock and show her you have one and that it is now your responsibility to get up. How old are you, anyways, that your mom has to worry about you getting up. Are you an adult or a child? I guess i could look into your profile but then I wouldn't be able to finish this post.

Hi glitzypurple,
I believe that your mom just has an aspect of personality that causes her to do things as soon as possible. This can be quite beneficial in some circumstances and being that she is your mom you will more or less have to respect that. I do not know if you are grown and on your own or if you are seeing her rush as a visiting child in her home. Either way, if it is that much of a problem, maybe a little space is all you need. I do not know anyone that is "always in a hurry" , but I guess is is just a matter of time management and personality. Take Care.
