What's the effect to the body if someone drinks an expired pedialyte?

it's stated in Pedialyte bottles that it should be consumed 24hrs after opening.
what will happen if you drink it after 24hrs? my baby had diarrhea last week and I bought few bottles of pedialyte. Now that she;s recovered would it be ok if i give her waht;s left of the opened pedialyte? I'm lucky she likes the taste.

Pedialyte bottles are to be consumed with in 24 hours after they are opened, because if you keep the bottle open, the ingredients are likely to get infected by other bacterial infection and apart from this the consumption of entire quantity should be for 24 hours to get the total benefits. If you do not give the benefits in total, the usage becomes waste.

I am not sure exactly what it will do but it may make her sick. Drinking things after the expiration date are not always good.
