Just give what you are expecting to receive; if you don't get anything back, just give more and don't care.
If you don't feel like giving so much, just don't do and, again, don't care!
Everry one of us is responsible for himself/herself and his own expectations; you cannot impose your standard to the behaving of other people

You shouldn't instead!
DON't expect back what you give. When it comes down to love and human persons, there is nothing such as "do ut des" (from latin: I give to you so that you will give to me).
What you really seek is a sentiment which doesn't expect anything back, so giving the same is the best way to happiness. And the only fair way do accomplish this is PRECISELY never expecting anything back.

its not that im nice so that other people will be nice.. im nice because im nice and it gets a little friggin annoying when people just take advantage of your niceness, or dont respect you, or think youre not worth the time to be nice back to. thats all.. but when i realize this if its with a friend i usually just show them that i still have that b*tch in me that ive always had. with family its different.
