I have been writing many years and my stuff is starting to pile up!
Due to working, being a mum i just havent got round to even trying to get published.
My passion is writing short childrens books, contemporary prose(which i put onto cards,poetry....i write alot and now need a kick up the bum to get my stuff noticed yet its such a scary competitive business isnt it?
I just dont know whether i am cut out for that writing world as that is not what i am all about.
I write as that i feel was my gift that was bestowed upon me,its the one thing i can do without having to think about it....has anyone tips, their stories to share...all advice much appreciated!

you have to make time for yourself and what you love to do. i have written and have also been published. i work part time outside of the house and have 2 kids, a hubby, a house...well you get the picture...
someone said to me once that writers are the only people that would rather be scrubbing toilets than writers...this is because often the job seems so overwhelming! if you do a little at a time, do your homework on publishers and stick with it, you will be fine...
as for myself, i have stopped writing temporarily to get a card business off the ground :-) do what you love!

well, i think that if u have a gift, it is better to share it then keep it to your self.so my advice would be to start trying and eventually publish books.if you are not sure wheter your gift will be liked by others.you should still go ahead with it because,in this world if u keep your mouth shut for something like that then you should rather keep it shut fo eternity.so go ahead with it.since writing comes to you as a natural liking than do as much as you can and start publishing. but before that try to arrange a small group of children and give some of your books to them and get their reviews, whether they liked it or not and if not why they didn't etc. best of luck!
