is it possible that there has been other civilisations on this planet that where ahead of our technology? considering the age of the planet and then the age of our existence i think it could be likely, maybe we keep getting more chances but eventually we break out into world wars and nuke everybody then start from scratch but as all of our history has been erased by the carnage of the world war and nuclear bombs, we assume we are the first to inhabit this planet..

I don't think so. If you look at the pace of technology throughout the world, the curve looks to be about right. I would say that if there was an advanced civilization, we would see some evidence of it.

according to vedic(ancient indian) belief system, we are not the most advanced civilization on earth, there have been others before us with more advanced technologies and the ancient texts abound with their acccounts, although how far you believe these accounts is entirely up to you.
vedic beliefs states that this 'creationary time' we are in now is divided into 4 portios [yugas] and we are in the fourth and last and during the first period people were more intelligent and healthier and very advanced in spiritually and all matters but as each time period ends humans loses their intelligence and gets more and more engulfed in ingnorance.
The ancient texts that recounts indian history, some say they are not history but fables, due to their far fetched ideas( in our eyes) about flying saucers, telepathy and teleportation and very advanced warfare......, abounds with examples of farmore advanced civilisations before our time and if we were to believe these accounts then it would be fair to say that the answer to your question is yes. to give more weight to this view point, it is well documented that ancient indians practiced a very advanced form of medicin including surgeries and they also possessed a profound knowledge of all sciences specially mathematics. now where did it all come from if not from previous civilisations?

Of course, when I say evidence...I mean artifacts. There is all kinds of unsubstantiated writings out there. If there was in fact an advanced civilization, we would see artifacts. There are plenty of artifacts from our society.

Well if it is possible that there was once a civilazation more advance then us then why is there 0 evidance of this fact. Even though yes it's possible we destroyed alot of things over the wars with nukes and so fourth but we could not have possibly destoryed all the evidance of a world civilazation and still be able to find dinasour bones.

That is a very good question. I don't think we are the first civilization to thrive in this planet. There have been many evidence that mass extinctions have occured billions of years before and a mass extinction is said to be long overdue. Scientists have learned that extreme heat that killed many of species on earth caused the weakening of our Biodiversity. With species going into extinction, mass extinction followed. Conditions like we are experiencing now is said to be similar to the conditions that triggered the catastrophe before. After the mass extinction, we have to start again from the beginning and work our way until another mass extinction will be triggered. Its an endless cycle. We will never know how many civilisations have thrived this planet before us. The evidence may appear only after its already too late.
