It is entitled Take Charge of Your Fibromyalgia byJanet Mazur.
I've read several books on the subject but like this one because it is easy to understand, up-to-date, and very inclusive. It talks about all the symptoms, how it diagnosed, even how to talk about it with your friends and family.
There are sections on the various therapies and what they can and can't do for you. And helps the reader understand the impact of diet and stress.
It is in Barnes & Noble Health Basics series.
As a Fibro sufferer for more than a decade, I highly recommend it.
What books have you found helpful?

I will have to check it out. I don't think I have read that one yet. So far I haven't found any good books on FMS. I am still searching.

What Your Dr. Never Told you about Fibromyalgia (*Updated version*)by: Dr. St Amand.
There is NO diet for FM..many Dr's will say so, but there is a lifelong strict "regime" Dr. St Amand explains to all his patients (located in Marina Del Rey California). I have been his patient for 10 years and 80% of my calcium on the surface is gone..deep deposits take longer because they r deeper in the muscle. You see certain ppl have a genetic disposition which makes them overproduce calcium in turn the blood distributes the excess calcium all over the body, attaching itself to anywhere there is muscle in including the brain. Guaiafeneson (antihistamine) found in Mucinex is used to break up the calcium...some patients take more than others..you must keep taking "guai" til you find your body;s "clearing tolerance". My n my dad take same dose/also have the same map of FM spots...genetic is genetic! ;-). There is a catch even though this gene is a lifetime thing..NO plantlife, aloe vera, natural ingrtedients (Salycilates) are allowed to be touched, used/eaten dut to the 24 hour cancelling of the Guai once it hits your blood stream..the plantlife, etc I mean.
Any questions..please feel free to ask.

I found "Treating and Beating Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome" by Dr. Rodger Murphree very helpful. That book is chock full of information.
As a side note, I managed to talk my 11-year-old daughter to do her speech this year on fibromyalgia. She wanted to do a speech on Autism. I told her there has been a lot of talk about Autism lately and someone else would probably do a speech on it. I said no one ever talks about fibromyalgia and she knows more about it than Autism since I have the illness. Hopefully she gives a good enough speech to move her on to other levels and educate more people.
