It all starts in every citizen. We can stop poverty in a general level by starting in our households. Budgeting our finances well is a basic step. Say, not spending more than what you are earning, not buying things you don't actually need and saving money. It also helps to be more sensitive to the needs of others. I don't think it is reasonable to buy a $2000 purse when some families are dying to earn $20 to get some food to eat.

Yeah, I agree with you both. Here in the Philippines, I think the worst problem is the lack of POLITICAL WILL.
Imagine, here, when you established a company you will be charged by government 30%tax upon registration. Annually, companies are required to remit taxes to the government. Aside from that, employees during payday are deducted withholding taxes. Morover, every purchase made of every Filipino citizen on each and every stores are added with 12%VAT.
TAXES ARE EVERYWHERE!!! And what do we get from that... Everyday news of corruption... politicians fighting and debating each other on nonsense...Spending millions over none relevant projects, though there are millions of people suffering from hunger...
I just pray and hope.... God help us...
