Why do people lie and is it good or bad to lie?

I think some people like because they see no other alternative. How hard they tried to find another alternative is another question. It is never really good to lie. Some lies are not as bad as others.

People lie always protect himself. It is not good for everyone. But sometimes be acceptable.

Some people lie to make them selfs or things seem better, then they are...Others lie because they are just sneaky or bad... A lie is either good or bad depending on the lie itself

A lot of people lie because they think that is the only way people will listen to them. It makes them feel bigger then they really are. I know some people who have lied so much they can't tell the truth.
