i know that many people care about others and some even more than they care about them selfs but i observed that when someone is depressed they stop thinking about who the other feels like and cares only about him even if the reasons are not logical and if they were a little more normal feeling they would totally not care about that ...
why do you think that is? ... and how are you when you are depressed?

I suffered from depression for a long time, there'd be times i wouldn't want to get up and face the day, couldn't be bothered to bathe, i would, but the effort it seemed to take was immense. I've had councilling and have sorted myself out, my problems went back to my childhood. I wouldn't say i never thought about others, in fact sometimes thinking about the others would pull me down further. I used to hide my feelings then release them in private. I did get to a stage where all i was doing was crying in a chair. I'm so much better now, i still have my off days but don't we all.

It is not they just think of themselves but they feel the emotion inside at that moment. At the same time, their self esteem fall too low make them feel sad and disappointed. They feel like loosing the grip of life and feel being isolated as being ignored by other people around. They feel lonely and don't know where to go or what to do to hide the sadness inside. That's why they hide themselves in their own hermit shelves to feel deeper in depression.
