I've had it for about 20 years. Stress triggers mine most of the time. I was having bouts of it three and four times a week when I was working at a mobile home plant ten years ago.
It normally took two to three hours for it to run it's course and it ususally started in the evening after I had settled down for the evening, it made me feel like it was waiting for my undivided attention or something.
I tried to eat things that had a lot of fiber in it. It really seemed to help.

Thank you Susan, honestly, I have been suffering from it for nearly more than a year , I am trying to take different medications. The attack duration varies, so does the attack pattern. Stress as you said i guess, triggers it. Thank you very much for your response and sorry for being late in responding to you.

hello my friend. nice to hear from you again and to see that you're ok.
IBS is a stress induced symptom. I have suffered from it since 2005... but thank god it has gone down a little bit. i just get the usual bloating from time to time. @ least i can eat whatever i want again.
Drink lots of tea, it helps reduces the stress.. and make sure your diet consists HIGHLY of FIBER. it's the only way to control the damn thing.
a much better solution, there are pills you can buy @ your local health shop (GNC)@ jareer mall. get the apple or the natural oat fibers. each bottle costs up to 30 riyals max and lasts up to a long time. it worked wonders in my case.
come back in good health my dear friend.

Hi my friend..
As for me I am still struggling with it. I take pills for it but sometimes i feel they don't help that much. Maybe they do and i don't know. The attack could take different patterns with me.
Thanks for the advice and for the support. Always appreciated my dear friend.

Hi deadraven999,
I had suffered from IBS for about 4 years without knowing what it was. After visiting a doctor he told me that IBS is one of the symptoms of depression. When I told him that I am not suffering from any depression, the doctor told me that certain Psychological disorders will only show through symptoms like this and prescribed anti-depressant tablets. After using the tablets for more than a year, my suffering from IBS has almost come to normalcy. But I am still continuing to take anti-depressant tablets under advice from doctor.
Good Luck.

Yes so often doctors recommend using antidepression pills depending on the case and how serious it is. In fact one of my doctors recommended it to me but honestly never took it, just reading the side effects kinda freaked me out.
Thanks for your participation and support..
