I deleted spam e-mails from my inbox only to discover that I have deleted an important message or information that would have changed my life for good. Since that very day I always check the sender and the subject of every mails i received before deleting or sending to the trash. I know most people would have been making similarly mistakes because it is annoying receiving unsolicited mails. What do you do with your spams? Do you read them, delete or reply?

There are some email program's were you can have certain email addresses or subject lines added to be automatically sent to the junk folder, I use that for my work email to keep it clean of any junk or emails which I never use.

Well, as in your case I am not sure what e-mail program you use and how your software handles Junk email. But for the email that you received that could have changed your life, well how do you know it could have changed your life? If you know who send it to you, you can mark that e-mail as Not Junk, or in your e-mail preference you can set it up to have a certain email going into a certain folder.
