I believe that Hillary (and Bill) are exactly what this country needs to get us back on track. They did it once and can do it again. As for Obama, look what the last inexperience person that was elected 7 years ago did to this country. Can we afford another inexperience person to sit in the Oval office and play around? As for the previous responder criticizing Bill Clinton for NAFTA - He needs to remember that it was Daddy Bush who set all of that in motion with Mexico and it was already in place when Clinton took office. He just signed off on it. So it was a Bush thing not a Clinton thing. I just have one thing to say to Hillary - YOU GO GIRL.

Thank you for your comment. You are so right.I believe experience is the most important factor that the next President has to have.We really do need to get back on track,we are way off kilter. Our next President has some really serious business to handle.I don't want an inexperienced person in charge of all the mess.Go Hillary !

It was already in place when Clinton took office, he just signed off on it. Well then, he had a part in it, now didn't he? If he was soo great, why didn't he fight against it?

I only know that I'm ready for a female president and Hillary Clinton is the first viable female candidate we've ever been offered. I just hope I get the opportunity to vote for her in November.

Dixie5150-Hillary has so many good points.Yes, she's a woman ? We all know she's a woman. Is she a capable woman ? Yes.Does she have the most experience ? yes. Will she make changes for the good of the common person ? yes.Is she strong minded enough ? yes.Does she have enough empathy yes.I think we need the mixture of a womans emotions and especially Hillarys. She is a strong woman with just enough empathy.

By the way, I have no problem with a man who wants to open a door for me. It's a show of respect, kindness and just plain old common courtesy!

Again, is it just because she's a woman? What makes her a viable candidate in your eyes?

I agree with friends2friends. Just because Hillary's a woman doesn't mean she is the answer. You really do have to think about who instated NAFTA. The Clintons. And as we all joked while Bill was in office, Hillary obviously supported that considering she practically WAS president during that time. Yes, America IS ready for a woman president. However, Hillary is not the woman we need in office. She wants to help people? Yeah, she does. Unfortunately, she has a tendency to help people who don't want to help themselves. She has a tendency to take tax payer money and GIVE it to people who are poor or "in need" when in reality, those people just need to get a job. I believe in the American Dream. I believe everyone can have the American Dream. However, like my parents, their parents, and their parents, you have to WORK for the American Dream...it's not something that should be handed to you. Hillary for Handouts.

Thanks Dixie. You're absolutely right. And if we're looking for our next president to undo what Bush Sr put into law...why didn't we expect the Clinton administration to undo it?? Were they exempt from that? They were exempt from a lot of things apparently.

NAFTA was started with Bush Sr.Bush Sr.signed it and younger Bush signed the CAFTA,these have both sent our jobs to China,Mexico, ect. Our next President will get the honor of undoing the damage of the Bush's.Hillary said it wasn't a good thing and that we need a time out on it.She does not agree with it at all. This was not Hillarys doing.

This is why it is so important to know a politicians voting record and not just listen to what they say at the debates, talk is cheap. Just four days before she promised to call a "time out" on Nafta she quietly announced she would be "casting a vote to enact a vote for the Peru freetrade agreement" - which is the latest NAFTA style trade deal moving thru congress. Hillary tells you what she thinks you want to hear but does what benefits her. Please people, check the voting record of the person you plan on voting for. Like I tell my kids...Actions speak louder than words and Ignorance is only bliss for a little while.

Are we ready for a woman president? Sure. Are we ready for Hillary Clinton to be that woman? The answer is a resounding NO! This is not a socialist country, never has been and never will be, nor do I or hundreds of millions of other americans want it so and that is EXACTLY what she will bring. I dont think the people voting for her understand this. If you want a leader like her, move to Europe. Point number 2. People talk like we are the only nation on earth to never have elected a female president or prime minister. If you look at it though, a female leader is the exception and not the rule in the world. Out of hundreds of countries on this planet, less than a dozen have ever elected such a leader and only one or 2 times per country. It's not a unique thing to the U.S. to not have done this. Look it up, do the research.

Actualy yes, I believe canada to be a socialist leaning country, and yes, I have been there, it's a second home, I spend a great deal of time in ontario, I have a girlfriend there and stay with her and her family quite a bit, know a lot of people, etc

No one else compares to Hillary so no need for me to move to Europe because I wouldn't want someone like her.Someone like her just wouldn't be Hillary.I bet you would say that Canada is socialist also because they have free medical. If a person doesn't like Hillary they will say all kinds of negative things about her.She is in this dog fight and she is taking it on.If you were following her issues I bet you could find one good thing to say about her.I could even say some good things about the other candidates but I prefer the one who is the most experienced. Thanks for your comments. It all keeps this conversation going.

I'm not against a woman president, but Hillary Clinton is not the answere. Do we really need another 4 years (possibly 8) of whitewater or Monica Lewinski. It was scandal after scandal. And the tears looked fake to me.

Maybe we can just take a good look at Hillary for Hillary and not for Bill or Lewinski. If we could delve into the past of any one of the candidates we would find not one of them perfect. We would find human beings that make mistakes.

Okay, lets look at Hillary for Hillary. She was the driving force behind whitewater, Bill was just the stooge she used to make it happen. Then theres the trades of the cattles future contracts, the Castles Grande real estate scam, and what about the illegal contributions to her campaign. Within the first two months of being in the senate she pardoned four men from the New Square Community who had been convicted of defrauding the federal government (this was a group who helped her get elected to the Senate). These aren't past problems that people have to really dig to find. These are problems she caused herself ever since she discovered that politics can make you rich.

I think that the states would welcome a female president well but may be a bit worried as it has never happened before, it would make the world sit up and in the places that dont see women as equals would have a state figure that would go against there core principle and i think it would be good for the world.

Britain never had a woman Prime Minister before Margaret Thatcher, but she was one of the strongest PM's that Britain has had since the war. Hillary has the experience of being the power behind the throne of her husbands presidency and she has the ambition to get there as well.

Hillary is not the answer. The Nafta Family ? The Family that approved the Nafta bill and corporations fleed the USA,costing millions of jobs to pay slave labor and selling back to the very same people that put out of work !! What we need a is a real person to stand up for the people and not have the Skull & bones dedicate to the pres how they want this country ran for their financial gain at the expense of the commone person. Why is the Gov't financially busted. Sending and spending billions to foreign countries and the tax payers foot the bill. Our Gov't in debt to forein countries and even communist countries. America needs to wise up and open their eyes to what really is going on and stop voting for pretty faces.

What we need is a real person to stand up for the people.Hmm,that sounds like Hillary.America needs to open their eyes to what is giong on.Hillary said she knows what is needed for the common person and she understands what is needed for the country, she wants to make things better for all.Pretty faces don't make a difference but intelligence, experience, and motivation will.

"Hillary said" she knows this and that. But does she really? She knows what "common people" need? Yeah right. And if we're voting for pretty faces, Hillary's DEFINITELY off the list.

Word! We are ready for an american woman president: it would boost the political weight of women in politics in all the world! Also for a woman to have arrived at that level fighting against chauvinism is evidence of a strong personality
• United States
10 Jan 08
Are you voting for her because she is a woman with a strong personality??? Or because it will boost other womens power in politics? Do you know what she stands for? Have you read about her past political involvements? What does she stand for, besides being a woman, that you like so much?
