Travel -- by sea or by air?

Travelling can be by air or by sea. I have experienced traveling by sea when me and my family went on a cruise. I love traveling by plane more and I’ve done it so many times when I went to other countries, especially when I went to Switzerland. I really love it, I even wished that the trip was longer! Have you traveled by air and by sea? What’s more convenient for you? Which do you prefer?

I have only travelled by air and by car. I have never travelled by sea, but I would love to. My biggest dream since I was a little girl was to go on a cruise. Maybe one day, but I don't think so because it is very expensive. I love the water and go boating and fishing on lakes and rivers. I have gone sailing on the water, also and I loved that. But it has been a while since I have done on the water.

I don't think I have enough time to have a travel by sea, although it's very relaxing and interesting. I just had a ship travel once after I graduated from college. Besides it, I travel all by air because it saves time.

I have travelled hundreds of thousands of miles by aeroplane and tens of thousands of miles by sea. Give me the sea any time!! Ok, air travel has become quieter and quicker but for 6'+ me the seats have become closer together and it is just hell unless I have an isle seat and can stretch out. Given the time, sea travel is great and you have time to meet people and do things together. You can also take a decent amount of luggage with you!

If I'm traveling for the goal of getting from one place to another, I'd choose air because it is faster, even though I don't really like the very long flights. It is hard for me to sit in one place that long. But if I'm traveling purely for pleasure, I loved the cruise we took. I'll take another as soon as I can afford it - it will be a while! - because I felt so pampered. I loved sitting and watching the water and clouds and, when there was shoreline, the scenery. The movement of the ship was so soothing. I slept like a baby.

I think it is very quick to travel by air. I can go from the UK to New Zealand in 24 hours but by sea it might take as much time as four weeks. When I flew to Auckland I took advantage of the many lovely stopovers that Air New Zealand offer. I went to Los Angeles twice, French Polynesia, the Cook Islands and Samoa. Economy class airline seats are often cramped and there can be very little leg room. I prefer a window seat so that I can see out of the plane. Sometimes the view can be wonderful. I have seen he pyramids of Egypt and the islands of the Maldives. I like short trips by sea, like from one island to another but I have never been on a large cruise liner. I was tempted by a cruise going to the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Panama and Colombia. However the price of this trip would have been very expensive indeed. Also on cruises not much time is spent in each port of call. I think I would like more time than a coach tour around the destination. I like to explore independently and air tickets are perfect for this. Train is my favorite form of transport.

I prefer traveling by plane as I can reach my destination in a faster way. I then can save more time for visiting other places. I had travelled by plane many times. I first traveled by plane was many year ago when I visited Thailand.

I have done it both and i must say it's hard to chose. On one side i prefer travelling by plane because it's faster but on the cruiseship there's more entertainment. So it's nice travlling by sea but plane is faster.

Hello dear glitzypurple. I usually travel by bus and train. It has been only once that I have ever travelled in an aeroplane when I could not get my train ticket back to my hometown. Though it is much more expensive to take a plane, I love the fast speed and have enjoyed it very much for the nice and pleasant trip, which took me only one hour and a half back home. If I take a train home, it takes 12 hours. Anyway I hope that I will be lucky enough to get a train ticket back to my hometown for our traditional Spring Festival from February 6th. Please wish me good luck. Thank you very much and the same good luck to you as well in the new year, my dear friend.

I've never traveled by air, but I did by sea. I find it quite relaxing and peaceful. It wasn't a rather big ship, but it was fun. I'd like to do something like that again. I'd always prefer traveling by sea for shorter distances and traveling by air for longer. Even if much the scenery would get lost when traveling by plane, I'd like to get to my location faster. :D

I have traveled by air and by sea.By air is more convenient for saving time. But it makes me quite uncomfortable because there is a drumming in the ears during the flight. So I prefer traveling by sea.Maybe it will costs more time, but I can breathe fresh air and enjoy the beautiful view during my trip.

I have mainly traveled by air and haven't really traveled much by sea. When I was in Egypt we took a cruise down the Nile, which was 4 or 5 days, and it was wonderfully. It was just such a slower, more peaceful way to get around. It was a small ship, nothing like the cruise liners. We got to see more of the people and scennery that we did when flying. I love to travel by air (especially when going long distances) because I get there faster. It would have taken forever to get to Egypt if we had to take a boat.
