They said that if you have hemorrhoids you should avoid eating spicy foods. I love to eat spicy foods and I eat like almost everyday. It's part of my everyday meal. But the problem is I got hemorrhoids. I tried to reasearch about this but I cannot find any article about this. So I wanted to hear your opinions guys.

i dont think that eating spicy food causes hemorroids. you have to go to a doctor to check what was the cause of your hemorrhoids. if you are pregnant then it is natural to have Hemorrhoids. if your not pregnant you realy need to a doctor to make sure what was the cost of your hemorrhoids. i saw this "The most common cause is straining during bowel movements. Hemorrhoids may result from constipation, sitting for long periods of time, and anal infections. In some cases they may be caused by other diseases, such as liver cirrhosis." at this site http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000292.htm#Causes,%20incidence,%20and%20risk%20factors hope it may help you

I had constipation for many times before I had hemorrhage. That's why I am very careful with the food I eat to avoid straining when defecating.

Food - Beef with spices.
I have not heard of eating spicy foods to be disadvantageous to people who have hemorrhoids. What I know is that pungent foods are not good to be eaten by those who have hemorrhoids. Try eating spicy foods and if you feel adverse effects, then avoid eating such kinds.

I don't feel anything when I eat spicy food. I hope there's really no effect with my hemorrhoids.

I have never heard of that before, I think you should have more roughage in your diet as it is straining that causes them I have read that putting witch hazel on them helps shrink them, the elderly neighbout I look after has been using this and it has shrunk them a little, but it is a case of going to bed witha tissue with witch hazel on them over night....

Spicy foods are my favorite these days. Korean foods are real spicy and hot. Well, it's good for our body and health. It has it's own ways of helping us achieve a strong physique. For me, spicy foods are acceptable.

I have read a research report on network which said that there were 9 persons who have hemorrhids among 10 people. It said that less exercise that people take in life leads to the morden ailment. We sit at least 5 days for working or TV watching in one week which makes our blood flow unswimmingly. So I don't think spicy food is a most important matter.

Thanks for that. The doctor said I should drink plenty of water. Before I had hemorrhage, I don't drink a lot of water, which caused me to be constipated. The doctor said constipation can be a reason to have a hemorrhage.

straining causes hemorrhiods and sitting wrong while passing waste causes the breakdown of spincter muscles which causes the riods.spicy food is fine i found as long as i stay away from pepper which comes out the same way it goes in,it doesn't digest which can cause burning and any kind of seed that don't digest like jalapeno pepper seeds etc.the one good thing about spicy food i found is that it helps in weight loss,i started a diet 4 months ago and ate hot peppers or some kind of spicy food to get my metabolism kickin in and lost 50 lb's where no other diet ever worked.so don't strain and go when you have to if you have the chance don't hold it in if you don't have to

It depends..I have a lot of family who eat the spicy food..and it seems to make them have less problems in the stomach area..but what you describe is new to be.. my best friend is Latino and he told me he knows when its time to eat..when his you know what stops burhing..i thought this was a joke for us gringos..lol but my brother in laws all like my asawa to bring them a lot of hot pepper from the US..we grow jalapeno and even hotter peppers which i forgot how to spell..duh? but when you cut them up you have to wash your hands and don't get the juices in your eyes..lol..I even ate horseradish roots and they are also very hot...but my wife likes this too.. I used to date a girl who told me she got the worms hen she was a young girl..maybe she should have eaten more hot stuff too..also worms do not grow in alchohol..lol..but I am glad my wife does not like to drink or smoke...she just likes good food and that is our only vice...so bye for now.. I think you are ok as this is a healthy diet...what you should be considering is that you haver a daily BM without putting a lot of strain..this comes from eating veggies and plenty of fluids..maybe some OJ..prunes if you can get them..but fiber is very important..sorry..I studies as a Nurse Aide and this was I learned in school..

My father has hemorrhiods so he avoided eating spicy food. He says that eating spicy will trigger hemorrhoids.

i am not quite familiar with that issue. I think the best way to know is to consult a doctor and they will probably give you a good advise and recommendations. It will just cause you a little than to make your hemorrhoids worst, And one more thing you will have someone to blame when you got worst. ayt?

gorgeousdreamer if you eat a lot of hot chili peppers you will darned right know it will burn your hemorrhoids like crazy and you will not need research to prove that either. They go through your system and come out in your feces which rubs onto your hemorrhoids. so I would avoid redchie peppers above all.

There is nothing to with this. Because I tried for many times. Even some times I controlled my bite and sup and everything become well, the hemorrhoids kicked me again if I take some spicy foods. So, listen to me, don't take them whatever you like them.

Yes, in my opinion, spicy food is damaging to the lining of the intestines and if you have hemorrhoids then it would be irritating to the hemorrhoids. If you love it and find it difficult to eat without having your spicy food, try reducing the amount of spicy food little by little so that you do not irritate so much the hemorrhoids. Spicy food in Mexico (chiles) has become the #1 cause of stomach cancer. Drink lot of water, eat a lot of vegetables and fruits with peeling and seeds such as apples and grapes eat all including the seeds to give your digestive track more fiber.
