When I was a child I live in my hometown with my grandparents. It was a common village and it was a impoverished place. But I have a happy childhood there. I went out to the field all day, catching insects, picking up cucumber, tomato, melons. The food there was very fresh. Altuogh we had no meat, no milk, little eggs, I have grown up healty. In the night we used kerosene lights or candles because there is no electricity at that time. The sky was dark and very very many stars could be seen. I seldom saw that kind of purity of sky after I went back to the city to go to school. I really miss my hometown.

That is the exact description of my childhood, I grew up in the village, free and freshly unadulterated. We would go out to the bushes to harvest wild berry and other fruits that were so plentiful that we did not need our mothers to cook for us-the bushes were so full of what to eat that I feel, I survived my child because i had the best diet at my disposal. The sounds that filled our hears from the jungles were from nature itself-birds of all colours and melodies sang in the morning, in the day and in the evening and deep into the night. The village did not have clocks or watches, we told time by looking at the position of the sun and by listening to the songs of the different birds. The most accurate timer for us was the domestic roosters-when they crow, we knew it is dawn, the start of a new day! Life will never be like that ever, again for my own children because not only have things changed, but times have eqully changed. Thanks for this post that amazing triggered off nostalgic feelings about my childhood raidun!

Yes, we all have a happy childhood. Although we were not rich, we had freedom and we relished the nature. Today's children have much more materials than we on the price that they have much more pressure and less freedom. They have to learn so many knowledge and all kinds of skills. Maybe they are more succesful than their parents, but their childhood may have no pleasures as ours.

I am very happy you know I am from china. I think the word struggle is a bit cruel. You are studing or working hard for a good life. That should be encouraged. I believe in the future people in the countryside could live a life without much distinctions as compare to city persons. Let's work hard for that.
