Thats a very nice statement that u posted here...really fantastic...I dont think calling some one monkey should create this deal of hype...just unnecessary stuff....what else can u expect from the Aussies cricket players...cheaters...

Sure, the guy who clearly knows he is out and still stands his ground is the most honest and fair player.Players like them are deperately needed in the gentlemen's game.

I actually use the word "monkey" as more of a compliment than an insult. When people are very flexible and nimble, I call them a monkey.

Haha, yes, it's pretty funny when people think differently and want to bash your skull in. I love the sudden change they go through, from a raging monster to a friend. :D

In some countries, the word "monkey" is often misinterpreted as something that is offensive and discriminatory. Countries like in India perhaps. When someone uttered that word, especially during a cricket match which is their sport.. many people especially Indians got mad for being called that way. So I guess calling someone a monkey is just something that other countries or cultures can't just accept. But its just a word, an animal.. It doesn't really mean no harm in my perspective.

actually it wasn't the indians but the australians who were offended. And MR.andrew symonds and his great captain ricky ponting made a isue out of it.
Yes one thing to note is that SYMONDS keeps complaining that Indians are racist and they called him a monkey because he is black but well his history is weak beacause Indian themselves were called "Black" by the british during their colonial rule

Sorry. It was the Indians. My bad. But anyway, its just really a word. Is he a monkey? I don't think so. So why bother and make issues out of it. He is a person and regardless or what color he is, he should just let it go. Racism and discrimination will always be around. But I guess to prevent too much trouble, people especially those who are affected should just let it go.

oh c'mon how could it be a racism. it shows the mentality they posses, i mean the australians, if the things are not going in favour of u then u should disturb the player in other way, that's what the team ponting thought.
i mean it is the limit, if u can't play a god game then alteast don't spoil it dignity and reputation.

I too fail to see how calling someone a monkey is really racist. I am sure that he has been called much worse in the local bar and even more certain that during his life he has called people much worse.
It is embarrassing to think this is how grown men are behaving. I would like to met him face to face and say a few words. If this is what he is like at being called a monkey he would probably be in tears when I give him my two cents worth. He acted like a big baby.
Ricky Ponting is just as bad, rather than running to the umpire he should have just told him not to worry about it, the winners will shine through in the end.
