People are ignorant. A Hurrican Katrina victim is suing the government for three quadrillion dollars due to the poorly designed levees. Don't these people realize that they have choices to where they live in the world. The government is not in charge of hurricanes so get over it. Could you imagine how much the american people will pay if this person wins the lawsuit? What do you think about this? Here is the story news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080109/ap_on_re_us/katrina_flood_lawsuits.

One person is suing for this amount? I seriously doubt that even if the whole state sued that they would get that much. (btw, I can not even imagine what that amount is, quadrillion?) Anyways, when it comes to protection, like the levy, whose responsibility is it anyways?

Some people were born and raised in the hurricane zone, it is all they know and they live and work there. Not everyone lives in the hills or out in the sticks. There are people that live in places that have mudslides and places that has fires that destroy their homes. Guess they in the wrong place too. Maybe we should jsut carve out a section in the middle of the usa and make a circle and everyone live in that little circle away from trees, water. etc. The government gives money to the state to make the levees strong and to keep them up, and the levee board didnot do what it was suppose to do, first of all the water in New Orleans did not come from Hurricane Katrina, it came into town because a company tied a barge to a dock instead of taking the barge out of the area, it broke loose and kept hitting the flood wall till it knocked a piece of it out, thent he water poured in. That was not a result of Katrina but of a company that did not take care to get their barges out. What are you afraid that it might cost you a few nickles if this lawsuit is won, and believe me it won't be. You are the ignorant one, speaking of something you know nothing about. I don't know where you live but there are floods, tornados, and all kinds of things to happen to each of us, so before you run your mouth, things have a way of coming back and hitting you right in the face. It appears to me no one is safe any where now adays.

I doubt this victim is going to get anything. Hurricane Katrina was a very devasting time for all. The ones who experienced it and the ones who watched it. You can't prevent a Hurricane from happening. They have no right sueing the government because the levees broke. You have a choice of where you want to live. They didn't have to live in New Orleans. If they get anything out of this there is honestly going to be an uproar on others coming forward and wanting the same compinstation. It's going to be more of a hassle if they let this slide. For the governments sake I hope they decline this.
