According to what I read, India's infrastructure may not be able to handle all of these little cars. It will get to the point will people will own them and not drive them out of frustration.

it is giving better/high average then any other Car - in what areas please.
And when these cars prove unreliable - will we need more landfills?
And the article I read specifically mentioned that the Indian infrastructure is already over-burdened with bicycles and 2 wheelers. Do you think adding little tiny cars will help? I don't. Living in a place where the infrastructure is always about 10 years behind the growth of the area, I know how frustrating it can be.

lol I just saw this car on the news. Boy it is tiny. It sure is cheap though and it gets 50 miles to a gallon of gas. I would drive one if they were available here in the States.

Hello dear ersmommy. So is this priced at $US 2,500 for the world's smallest and cheapest car, please? I think that it must be better and safer than a motorbike and safer than a motorbike as it is still a car anyway. So if I coule have one like this, I think that I would be happy for it. lol

For a longtime there has been talk of TATA coming out with a low cost people's car in India. The goal of the car was to provide an affordable car for folks who would otherwise settle for a two wheeler. The target cost was ONE Lakh Indian Rupees(about 2500 USD). It was said that "The People's Car" was impossible to produce. Tata just proved the naysayers wrong. The Tata Nano is the cheapest car in the world!! The car is a five seater, four door with 30 horsepower, 624-CC engine, a four-speed manual transmission, a disc/drum brake setup with a mileage of 26 kmpl on HIGHWAY(roughly 56 miles per gallon). Not bad for the segment the car is targeted at.
