I love to make homemade pizza. Have you ever done this? It takes a little bit of work to cook all the meats and make sure that you have all the ingredients, but it sure is worth it. I think it is probably not any more expensive to just go and purchase a pizza from a shop, but it takes all the fun out of it for my family, because we get together and all of us get involved in putting the toppings on and rolling out the crust. Do you purchase a crust mix, make your own or buy the ones that are already pre-made? What about sauce? Anyone have a good pizza sauce recipe? The girls prefer just plain tomato sauce mixed with some Italian seasoning, salt and pepper. If you buy your sauce, which brand do you prefer the taste of?

i have tried the pizza, however i made a few adjustments...for example is the italian seasoning for homemade pizza sauce. we do not have any italian seasoning since it is not yet available here in our province, so we did not use it at all. i just put additional parmesan cheese and more basil then some finely chopped bell peppers to the sauce. i do not even know what spices consists in an italian seasoning. so i just replace it with those ingredients that suits to my palate. another problem is, i have a very hard time making a pizza dough and end up a non-satisfactory results. i'm not really good in making breads. so i just bought a pizza dough

this sauce sounds awesome! I'm going to have to be sure and try this the next time I make homemade pizza for the family. I bet it would be good, because it sure sounds like it. Have you tried these recipes? None of us are much into olives, but I could leave those off.

I am a big pizza fan. I bought a professional oven to make pizzas at home. Yeah, I did try to make it at home and it's very economic:)

i have a small oven that is designed to cook pizzas and also doubles as a routessarie oven. (Not sure about spelling there) It is sitting on the opposite side of the kitchen from the rest of my appliances gathering dust. It does an awsome job, but it's so hard to clean, that I don't like to use it.

I make my own pizzas. My family are spoilt, they turn their noses up and a pizza shop pizza these days. I make the dough in my bread machine, then put it in an oven proof frypan that I cook it in a very hot oven. We prefer really simple toppings, homemade tomato sauce with a sprinking of herbs and maybe some parmesan cheese. We also prefer very thin crusts

I'm the same way as far as the crusts go. I don't like deep dish pies at all. The thinner and the crispier they are..the better i like them. I always cook my crust a few minutes before putting the toppings and sauce on. It seems to make them crispier and less likely to not get done.

I make pizza by using my bread maker for the dough or buy dough with no dairy. This is the only way my daughter can have pizza, as she can't eat tomato or dairy products. We make a fruit salad pizza with ham. Its fun to roll out the dough with another person.

One of my favorite desserts is the fruit pizza that they make at our local pizzeria. They do it with cherries and a crumb topping and then drizzle it with a confectioners sugar and water glaze mixture. Hubby likes ham and pineapple pizza so I'll bet he would like the fruit salad pizza that you make. You should consider posting the recipe on mylot.

My mom has an unusual way to make homemade pizza which she has been doing for many years, and my dad loves it. I however don't like it all that much. I think of it as a hamburger pie. Anyway, she makes her own dough and cooks the entire thing in a tall castiron skillet in the oven. She puts tomato sauce from a can on the crust, browned ground beef, and mozz cheese on top. If you like hamburger pizza you will love this.

that sounds good...I'm like you, and probably would think of it more as a hamburger pie, but I bet it would be great! thanks so much for sharing this with me and my family. My girls and their tummies will certainly thank you for it! LOL

I have made homemade pizza. Years ago, we got the Kraft home made kit, but I did not like it. I make it from scratch, and I use regular tomato sauce and add oregano and other seasons and pepperoni, along with onions, green peppers, and cheese on top. I usually buy Hunts if I buy sauce. However, I have not made any for a long time. I would not mind one with black olives on it, and anchovies, since I like that on my pizza. I would not mind some with ground beef if I get brave enough to make some.

i like ground beef on my pizza as well. i'm not much into the veggie pizzas though. To be quite honest, I'd just as soon have one loaded with gobs and gobs of cheese. My grandma and I were laughing about pizza yesterday and she said if she wanted vegetables, she would just eat a salad. Her favorite is one with all kinds of meats.

My wife like to make a homemade pizza. Because I and my two kids love to eat pizza except my wife, but she love to make pizza for us. I love pizza specially pizza of Pizza Hut or Shakey's. But I love also cheese pizza as one of the topping of pizza. I love pizza with pepperoni, ham, mushroom, bell pepper and a lot of cheese in the topping. Mostly I like thick pizza with the pizza side have a lot of cheese.

I've made my own insomuch as I've bought a base and jar of sauce and then added what I wanted on top. I'm not much of a cook though! I've made bolognese sauces before so I suppose making a pizza sauce isn't much different. I've never attempted bread or pastries before. Do you have a recipe that you use to make the base? How long does it take and is it fairly foolproof as I'm a bit of a disaster in the kitchen!

Oh I wish I had one! I buy either the packaged crust mix that you just add water to and roll out, or the crusts that are already made and rolled out. YOu can get these in the dairy section with the other bread items, or now there are some that are room temperature that are over with the rest of the spaghetti and pasta sauces and mixes.

I make a lot of pizzas in the winter months when I like to use the oven - these homemade pizzas are a great way to use leftovers. I also like a garlic pizza pie, or spinach with feta.

I do homemade pizza but the crust I used is the one you can buy at the grocery. The sauce is pizza sauce or some times spaghetti sauce for the sweet taste.

I've tried to do a simple homemade pizza (fresh tomato and mozzarella) with my friends and it was worth it, it was good and we had a good time. However it's a lot of work to do if you want to do it alone and pizzas from good pizzerias are better

that sounds good. Believe it or not, just plain cheese pizza is actually my favorite! I do like some of the others with meat and veggies, but you give me a good pie that is piled high with lots of gooey mozzarella cheese and i am happy as a clam! I still think that getting together and assembling it is half the fun though!~

That was good times, and the pizzas we made always got tasty and stuff, wish we could have cebab like the pizzas the pizzerias make but otherwise there wasn't anything to complain about.

When we lived in Florida, there was a family owned pizzeria that made the best pizza. They were 24 inch square pies and you'd have to fold the slices over to keep the stuff from falling out of them. They were so good and those homemade crusts would just melt in your mouth/

i also love home made pizza and i also do this whenever i'm low on budget. i'm gonna share you my recipe on how i make my homemade pizza Ingredients: pan de sal, split in halves 2 tbsps. of pasta sauce for every half-piece of pan de sal chopped onions, optional chopped bell peppers, optional grated cheese Assembling the pizza pan de sal: I don’t recommend ready-to-pour pasta sauce in pouches. If you don’t have a tried and tested pasta sauce, you may this or this. I don’t recommend either that you go through all the trouble of cooking a pot of pasta sauce just so you make make some pizza pan de sal. When you make pasta sauce, make a lot and set aside some to make pizza pan de sal. Chopped onions and bell peppers are optional because home made pasta sauce has enough onions and bell peppers. Add them only if you want some crunch in your pizza pan de sal. Toast the split pan de sal in the oven for about two minutes. You have to pre-toast the bread so that they form a crust on the surface. Remember that unlike uncooked pizza crust, you are using ready-to-eat bread. Unless you toast the pan de sal, they will get soaked with pasta sauce and they will turn soggy and difficult to handle. When you’ve toasted your pan de sal, spread the pasta sauce over them. Top with chopped onions and bell peppers, if you prefer, then add the grated cheese on top. Toast for another minute or just until the cheese melts. Eat as soon as they are cool enough to handle so as not to burn your hands and mouth.
