As many of you know, I’m going to DC for the Community Choice Act (CCA) hearing to be held in room 2123 of the Rayburn Building, on the first floor. This bill would allow people with disabilities to live in their own homes rather than being forced into institutions merely because the state decided not to provide in home services. For those of you who live too far away or can’t go to the hearing in person for whatever reason, you can click here: http://energycommerce.house.gov/membios/schedule.shtml and see the hearing (log on at 10 am Eastern, 9 am Central, 8 am Mountain and 7 am Pacific time) on your computer. In addition, the hearing is supposed to be closed captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing. I do not know if the hearing will be available for later viewing or if you must log on when the hearing is actually occurring to watch it. Who knows, maybe you'll even see me.
