Cats and computer envy

I'll be sitting in the living room or perhaps even in bed, using my laptop to browse online. Then suddenly, out of no where, there's a bundle of fur seperating me from my keyboard! Occasionally it's gradual, with a disdaneful look at the laptop, a look at me, another at the laptop, then a deliberate slow walk across me cutting off my internet supply, even if it means she has to balance on my chest. So, it's to somehow reaching round the cat to type or relocating said laptop to the arm of the chair and typing with one hand and fussing with the other.
Any other sufferers out there or am I just a total pushover?!

My cat loves t come sit on my books for my classes as i am reading. If I am tring to write he thinks it's even more fun to lay on my notebook so I can't write anything.
That is when he his is most lovey when I'm tring to do some work.

I do stop to give him attention but I can only do that for so long because he would sit there all day if I let him. He is so cute that I want to just sit their and pet him but I also need to get work done. Silly Kitty.

I had that problem when I was at school. My last cat (ek, I'm getting old) would try and sit on my coursework and I'd get annoyed and chuck her off. She was put down a few months later because her kidneys failed her. I still feel guilty to this day because she obviuosly wasn't feeling well and wanted some comfort. Which is why I probably indulge my attention seeking cats so much, especially now they are older.
There you go, I've given you a sob story you can use to justify to yourself why you should give your cat some attention halfway through studying!

Cats are a lot like women, hence why we associate cats with the feminine form. In my experience, a woman cannot understand why men pay so much attention to machines and not them. It's the same way with cats. In the long run, it's the living that you should pay more attention to rather than the machine.

You are not alone. Cats crave attention and don't see a machine as anything alive, hence, why are you not giving me the attention, mommy/daddy? My older cat has no problem with my being in front of the computer (he's ten), but my kitten, who's only nine months old, will just raise heck sometimes. She starts to go chew wires, and gets yelled at and scolded and sometimes locked out of the room. And yes, sometimes she sits in my lap, cause she's so cute, and I have to do the one-hand typing thing. I believe if she wasn't so cute, she wouldn't be alive right now. I guess that's why God makes all babies so cute.

She just can't understand why you are not paying attention to her instead of this lump of machinery :-) This happens to me a lot as well, I quite often find myself having to type with one hand because a cat's lying on the other one. :-)

My kitty Maggie often lays on top of my laptop. I assume she likes the warmth. My husband says even the cat knows I keep the thermostat to low.

My cat also loves sitting on or between any work I'm trying to do - whether it's the laptop, or paperwork or even if I'm reading a book - she'll just come and sit right on top of it and start purring!
If I push her away or move she comes back again.
So sometimes I just have to lock her out of my room, if I'm not in the mood of entertaining her!
But I do love the little kit!
Cats just seem to love our company the most when we want it the least...
