When I was in college I had one of those small fish tanks that rested on my desk in the dorm rooms, and I had two fish in there that I would watch in the tank when I was relaxing or taking a break from studying. I named them; funny enough, I named one Trapper and the other one Keeper. The gold one was Trapper and the black one was Keeper. It was fun to give them names; I mean, we don't connect with them all the time, but I know that there are times that they would follow my finger on the glass. I definitely liked them and connected with them a little.

We name the ones we can tell apart. So, no I don't think it's wierd. We have Tigger (a 10" pacu), Thumper (a 10" lotch), Hippopotamus (12" pleco), Lazy Swimmy (9" pleco), Krytal (large bala shark), then misc. female & male swordtail fish, one guppy remaining from a batch that my daughter brought home from school last year (they get eaten). We have Racer & Slide that are goldfish in the pond outside with other gold fish. Daisy our turle is out there too. I guess since I named my fish when I was little, I kept doing it and now my kids do it.
