I have two miniature poodles and they love to sit on my sofa. I have to keep a cover over it to avoid getting dirty paw prints on it. Luckily they are a breed that does not moult. They will prefer my sofa to their dog basket. Does your dog or dogs sit on your sofa or arm chair? If so do you like this? Has your dog or dogs have a basket or bed but not use it? Thanks

Buster - Likes watching out the front window
My Buster, a beagle, has a kennel with a bed pillow in it. he uses that a lot but not as much as I'd like. Hahahaha! He does sit on the furniture & I also have sheets on the furniture as he sheds a lot. Also to avoid the paw dirt. I try to keep him off but he loves it too much. HAHAHAHA!! HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

For now we allow her because its a older sofa, but in very good shape. We are getting our "new" sofa soon which ha a beautiful fabric with leather arms etc,so i dont think she will be getting on it,maybe sometimes by mistake, but i will just have to put her down and learn her to stay off.She usually sits with us cuddling up beside me or on the other side ny the arm rest. She has a habit of when she gets excited she digs the couch like shes trying to dig a hole, but i have waited for along, along time for "my" new couch that im stern to keep her off.I know its bad,but it costs too much money to have funished by digging and dog smell in a short time. Now if i could only teach my daughter not to eat on the couch,i think this is the bigger problem, hahaha!!Our dog has her own bed also, but prefers the couch.Shes a pomerarian and spoiled, lol:) Peanutjar:)

It is good that any paw prints that Gissi leaves on your sofa can easily be wiped off of. Many thanks for sharing.

It is funny that your female dog snags your seat as soon as you get up. My dog Secret is like that sometimes. If I go into the kitchen to get a drink he is on the sofa. But if he sees I come back in the room with a can of dog food he jumps up ready to eat it. Cats love to sit on your lap. Many thanks for your superb response.

Our dog is 8 years old and when we first got her, my husband did not want her on the sofa... but... we got tired of making her get down all the time! lol! So now she pretty much sleeps and lays wherever she wants. Yes, she's spoiled! We go to my inlaws once every couple of months for a weekend visit and we take her with us. My inlaws do not allow her on their furniture. It's so funny because she knows she's not allowed on their furniture and does not even try! lol! She's so good about it too.

Our dog, Patty, sits on the sofa with me often when I am watching television with my mom and dad. Sometimes Patty also sleeps on the sofa, which she prefers more than her usual place... But at night she sleeps in my mom's room and she has a little blanket there where she sleeps

It is lovely that your dog Patty joins you on the sofa when you are watching television. Secret my dog barks when he hears a dog on television barking. So watching 'It is me or the dog' can be challenging. Secret and Magic would jump on my bed if I allowed them in my bedroom. Thanks for your great response.

Hello dear maximax. I do not have a pet dog as I do not have time for one. But your poodles sound very interesting as to love to jump onto your sofa as their comfortable place for fun to enjoy a quiet and peaceful life there...

Yeah, my pug-a-pooh sits where ever he wants to, including the couch and chair. I don't mind though, because he lives here too. The only place I don't allow him is on my bed. He tries to, but I won't let him. He pretty much owns this house. He is so spoiled but he is good, too. He never goes potty in the house and he never chews anything up. So what if he sits on the couch or chair and gets lots of hair all over them, they can be vacuumed. I love my Pugsley so pretty much anywhere he sits is okay with me.

My dogs have eaten the ends off of my loveseat and my couch. Do I care? Not one bit. I can get another one. My spaniel mix will get on the big couch and hog it. Two of my labs squeeze on the loveseat to sleep. I do keep a slip cover on the loveseat as the labs get dirty and nasty outside. But my spaniel mix dog is older and she doesn't think playing in mud puddles is much fun anymore.

My Golden sleeps on the couch at times and we allow it. If you let your dogs out I would suggest wiping their paws off with an old towel so that they don't get dirt on your sofa or on rugs, then you won't need a cover.

My dog thinks our couch is hers. She is always laying on it. I don't enjoy dog hair being all over it, but I let her go. She also loves laying on our bed. She does have her own doggy bed, 2 as a matter of fact and she still lays on them too. She won't lay in our rocking chair though...she don't like that fact that it moves.
