Do you know what animal your children want as a pet?

Sometimes kids' words are very funny. My son is 3.5 years old now. One day I asked him what animal he wanted as a pet. His answer was completely out of my expectation. At first I thought his answer might be a cat or something like that. However, he told me he liked to have the mouse which could run in the wheel. He saw it in the street. It is a kind of little white mouse. It ran in the wheel and the wheel rotated. My son is interested in any rotating things, such as fan, windmill etc. This is why he likes this mouse. I told him I was quite scared of the mouse:) I dared not to have it as a pet.

I once saw someone walking an iguana in the park in Abindon, near Oxford, England. From that moment I wanted one myself. I think every child should have there own lizard-type creature. He had a lead and everything. Unfortunately we didn't get a picture. If we did, it would be my most prized possesion....probably. I don't get why anyone would want a cat or a dog. Most of my neighbours seem to have one or the other. The cats have turf wars (proper screeching and stuff) while the dog(s) start barking every so often. Why do people have them?

Well we have 2 cats which only 1 is ours named Socks, and the other one got dumped on me. I am trying to get rid of her because she pees on my carpet by the litter box. My daughter got the cat which its the 2 nd cat she got my granddaughter and then dumped it on me. We also have a guinea pig named Oreo because hes black, white and black like an oreo cookie. Hes my fav. . We have had him for 4 almost 5 yrs since he was just old enough to take away from the mommy. He loves attention and always makes lots of noise when you open the ref. or feed the cats. He thinks he needs fed all the time.Tatyana(7) and Jordan(16) both want a dog. The thing is we arent even supposed to have the pets we have so not so sure need a dog and they are like having another child. You have to find a sitter if you go to far from home and fleas.I am tired of dealing with the fleas with the cats.

My children are not at home anymore. Besides mice in wheels you can get hamsters and gerbils who will run in wheels. I was a sneaky mom. Whenever my kids wanted a different kind of animal, I got a book about the animals and we read it. We mostly only had cats, rabbits, and a hamster, once, and fish. I had dogs once after they were grown. That is how I approach it. Maybe you need to get some kind of mechanical mobile for your son, so that he can have rotation without having to feed and care for it.

How about a hamster and not a mouse for the little guy. Although 3 1/2 is a little young for a pet of that size, since they are easily hurt.

Hello dear youless. It is so cute of your little baby to choose white mice as pets. In fact, when I was a kid, I also had a few white mice as pets. They were placed in a nicely-made wooden cage with two floors and stairs for them to get to their little and comfortable room on the second floor and two wheels for them to play with. It is so much fun to have white mice with a functional cage. They breed very easily and fast, easy to raise as pets. You only need to offer them some rice and water and fruits and vegetables. They will offer you lots of pleasure and relaxation. Do not be afraid of the lovely white mice as pets, my dear youless. I am sure that your son will be very thankful to you for the fulfillment of your getting him pet mice. Thanks very much.

We already have too many pets. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats, a goldfish, a cockateil, a peacock, and 2 peafowls. My 8 year old son however wants a GOAT. We have room for one, we just need to fix a pen for it. I am thinking about it, but I am not too sure yet.

Kids have such wonderful imaginations. But the things they come up with tend to creep me out. We have a Butterfly House where I live. It's a nice tourist attraction, and a wonderful educational place. Butterflies isn't all they have. Spiders, ants etc. Things that make you go EEEWWW! They also have Madagascar hissing cockroaches. They take them out and let the children touch and stoke these. My daughter thought these would make wonderful pets. Luckily we have a dog, a cat, and a beta fish. I told her we wouldn't have any room.
