Tide has always worked well for me. They even have a new Tide pen that you can use on your clothing right after it stains. That way there is no stain and you can keep wearing it. It works on lights, and it even works on getting stains out of jeans.

I currently use Persil. It's supposed to be low suds and good for top-loading machines. I use the same laudry soap for both coloured and whites. I think there are some soaps that are good for whites only but I can't be bothered to buy two types of soap for each different wash! :)

I use surf excell a hindhustan lever products. It is available in India in 5 cent packets. Laundry soaps are very cheap in India. For 40 to 50 cents you get lux bathing soap. They are of good quality too.

i think the best laundry soap for me is tide. in powder and in bar form. ^__^;; the only bad thing about it is, its so effective that even the skin of my hands is affected. you know, "nagbabalat" after i washed my clothes. ^__^;;

put baby oil on your hands before washing clothes or wear laundry gloves
