Would you want your husband/ wife to pull the plug or keep you alive???
In a vegetative state you are basically like a vegetable you cant do anything on your own (eat, move, talk, etc etc...)
I think i woulld want my wife or mom to pull the plug.. i cant imagine life like that.. it must be horrible

My old faith does not call for a DNR meaning that it does not call for Do Not Resuscitate. This is if the person is in a vegetative state or has a very low chance of survival unless they are put on a machine. The second thing is that to me if I was going to be left in a vegetative state, I would never put my wife and friends through that. No matter what, since Jesus went to the Cross with no argument as he knew from birth that he was going to die for humanity's sins, then why should we behave any differently? If you believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, when and only when it is our time to return home, we should do it gracefully and without argument.
I know that this was not meant to be a religious discussion and forgive me for making my comment here as much, but I just wanted you to know how I felt.

So you mean that you are prepared to live as a vegitable for x amounts of years just because of Jesus, i respect your thoughts id never do that. I believe also in Christ but he knows id never accept such a way of living, not being able to do anything or say anything or enjoy anything. For me its hell, and id rather die than be a prisoner of my own body, regardless of any religious beliefes. Im not that holy, im my self.

I was in a horrific car accident 2 years ago. I rolled my truck 4 times in the ditch doing 120 km. hour. I was sure lucky to walk out of that and sustain the injuries I did. (2 lacerations on my left arm, laceration on my hip and a severe back injury) I told my parents if I was left in a coma in a vegatavtive state that there would be no chance of me waking up and depending on the injuries I want them to pull the plug. My dad promised me that he would respect my wishes and do this. My mother cried and said if those are you wishes I will follow them. With having a fiance and starting a family now my fiance has the say now. I told him the same thing. He said if something happens to me you do the same for me as well. The same with my father. Well I don't really have too much of a say with my father as he is with my mother but he wants to make it known those are his wishes. So the next step we had to take was to get a DNR. Do not resuscitate. You will have to go through legal proceedings but at least I know that I don't have to put my family through seeing me hooked up with tubes and machines all over. I don't want to burden them and those are my wishes.

I have faith in my family to make the right decision for me. I don't ever want to like in a vegatative state.

No I would not want to live like that. I worked in the home health care field and had to sit with a few people who were in a vegetative state and it was heart-breaking. I would want them to pull the plug and put me out of my misery.

But how do you know that you will be in pain all the time in that state???
I read this book about a boy like that that was like normal inside his mind but on the outside he was a vegetable and everybody thought he was in constant pain but he wasnt.. At the end i think his dad killed him im not sure though..But he really didnt want to die..
You never know it could be something lie that..
thanks for the response!!!

Id want them to pull the plug, no freaking way that id accept that way of existing (not living, existing). I love to move around, to sence and enjoy, to use my mind and hands to contruct and create. If im going to just exist then feel free to put a bullet in my head or pull the plug, i care how just as long as im freed from that fleshy prison.
