The break is too long

Lost have really made a mistake, they made a break that is taking too long, all the fans or the series will never continue watching it and If you ask me, the series will be over in one season mainly because it lost all it's fans.
I don't understand why did they do such a mistake, it's common knowledge that if you take such a long break fans will go on watching other shows and won't really care if it continues a year later.

Ok folks here's the scoop. The reason for the long
layoff was so they could film the remaining three
seasons all at once. They are done. No need to worry
about the writers strike.
The season premier here in the states is Thursday
January 31st 8 p.m. EST. Go to the following link
to get some great catch-up and preview videos. You
won't be disappointed.

The writer's strike could have helped them out because they would be the only show airing new programs now. Most shows have run out, or are about to run out, of new shows and will start airing reruns... unless of course the reality shows take over. Unfortunately that is what is going to happen and will be what will hurt LOST. Big Brother is starting early (in February), American Idol will be starting soon, Celebrity Apprentice just started, there is another Survivor just around the corner, not to mention the game shows like Deal or No Deal, The Power of 10, 1 vs 100. Lost just might get lost in the shuffle. And as another poster mentioned, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad. Mostly it is just darn right frustrating. They may have to bring this show to an end soon. Too bad.

I am an avid wathcher and will continue to do so when it airs again this month. I have been so busy I didnt even realize it has been awhile since it has been on. so for me I guess it was a good thing.

I think its sure to find new fans. I was so looking forward to the series starting - then for some reason the channel didn't come in on the pilot (perhaps it was when I'd moved and was waiting for cable. So I watched part one of the pilot - listened mostly -then got caught up in other things
Now I'm watching the whole series from the beginning @ the ABC website and its sooooooo nice not having to wait a week between! I can't wait to the new one comes out -and its supposed to be really soon.

the new season of Lost will be this year right? it is definitely a long wait between last season and the new one. People might not remember what happened in the last season, but I guess they will show re-runs of it or something. I don't live in the US, and we get tv series quite late T_T ..hopefully not too late though! Lost is one of my fav series.

The only reason they waited till Jan to air it was so they could film more and air it continuously without a mid season hiatus.....but now because of the writers strike they will still have to take a hiatus.....I think they had had the show and the fans best interests in mind when they delayed it, but it has of course backfired on them.
