I used to be a member of the deprressed g_ts association every year.but this year I decided to be really positive and look for the best in everything. What I dfo want to do is stuff my face with a little bit of choco cake..How do you want to relate to your birthday and why?

My birthday is fast approaching...it's June 16th. I'm the only summer baby my Mom had (my Brothers are all in the fall). I have a thing for watermelons so my Mom always gets me one...it's an inside joke. Last year my youngest Brother also got me a watermelon shaped cake. I don't mind getting older (I'll be 40) I'm just glad I'm still around to enjoy it and have my loved ones around me to help me celebrate. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I relate to my birthday like this "Arrrhhhhhhh Fffffffffffuuuuu" then the day lands I get a bit moody, have a drink, cheer up an think I'm eighteen again, catch sight of myself in a mirror, have my age confirmed with a crashing thud, admire the extra wrinkles then get on with it. In truth "your only as young as you feel" or is it "your only as young as the women you feel".....lol

Hi yanji, good to hear that you have decided to have fun on your birthday. I have always found my birthday to be celebrated by friends and family even when I am NOT expecting it. They would tie a ribbon of happiness around the day no matter what. I love them for that. Have a great birthday yanji. H A P P Y BI R T H D A Y in advance.

I don't really celebrate my birthday but sometimes my friends a nd family will send me sms wishing me happy birthday over the mobile phone. I never feel depressed and it's feel like normal. I just think of how to make my self better for the particular age compare to before.

I just take it as another day. I try not to dwell on being another year older. I look at it like another year has passed and my life is begininning to be better than what it has been in the past. I try to think of the positive things about it too.

Hi yan! I like my birthdays to be meaningful every year. I've always celebrated it with my loved ones who make my life worth living for. The numbers are adding, but I still feel stucked as a debutante on the inside. Lol! I think what's important is that we are happy on our special day so do whatever makes it memorable, whether it be with the grandest party or a simple meal of cake and tea. =)

I have had a few rocky things just happen to happen on or around my birthday, so I kind of try to ignore it, the actual day, that is. I do not mind getting older. I think it is almost like a superstition, like breaking a mirror. If I do not acknowledge the day, nothing evil can happen on it. I cannot be disappointed. Chocolate cake is okay, but I also like pie, so I am easy to please. Maybe it should be cheesecake this time. Last year we made a point to take my son and family out for my birthday. If I am giving to others it takes away the jinx, as well.

If possible I would ignore it... but it isn't. So I'm trying to see the positive side and enjoy the birthday presents!

First and foremost, I want to greet my big sis a big Happy Birthday!!! Well, I celebrate my birthday every year by going to places that I've never been, or to revisit places that I've forgotten for quite a while. In fact I just arrived from Puerto Galera (a popular beach resort here in the Philippines) and stayed there for two days. I went there because my birthday is on the 16th and we celebrated it with a few of my closest friends. On my actual birthday I will celebrate it with my loved ones here. Again, big sis, I wish you all the best and Happy Birthday!!!

Hello dear yjr. When each birthday comes, I would think that I am gaining one year older with more wisdom, but still I do not think that I am that old because I can always have a young heart with me though I used to be a little unhappy to be aging. I wish you always young, either mentally or physically.

I don't really celebrate my birthdays at all. I sorta just get a day off from parenting that day. I get to sleep in and pretty much be lazy for the day. I rather do enjoy that. I rather enjoy celebrating my kids birthdays more. have a nice day.

Every birthday I have more wisdom.I don't let it bother me and I just do the best I can for my health and my body.If you are over 50 remember to get a colonoscopy and take one asprin a day to prevent strokes and get check ups you'll live longer.

I don't mind my birthday. I never really have any kind of a big blow out party, just a small get togethers or something with friends or family. As long as I have chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream I'm pretty happy about it. In fact, when I turn 50 I look forward to saying that I'm 1/2 century year old. I think I feel that way because my mom never liked celebrating her birthday, she didn't (and still doesn't - she's now counting backward) like turning another year older. Of course, I was the rebelious type with parental units as I was growing up, and decided that I would always look forward to my birthday and I always have.

Can I just have the chocolate instead of the cake, I am not a cake lover, but ironically have just watched Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, Johnny Depp is great isn't he, almost as sweet as chocolate lol. I relate to my birthday by never working on my birthday! Since I left school I have NEVER worked on my birthday, I always take it as annual leave, to me it's a national holiday LOL! I'm still the right side of 40 thankfully, but it's drawing ever near, got to wait till May for my birthday, kisses and hugs for tomorrow sis x
