What to do on a Friday Night

So here is my situation. I recently moved out of our house and seperated from my husband. We are trying to work things out and I will probably be moving back home soon. Part of our problem was that we were going out too much and not together. So, we decided that we should get a babysitter on Friday nights and go out and do something together. Last night we just went out to dinner and home because there was nothing to do. We kind of want to steer clear of the bar scene. We figure next week bowling. Can anyone suggest any other fun and different things to do on a Friday night that doesn't really involve sitting in a bar? We live in a very small town and the nearest places to go would be about an hours drive, but that's ok. Anyone know of anything fun to do in Clinton IA, Rockford IL, Dubuque IA, Freeport IL, or surrounding areas? I saw something advertised on T.V for a Dave and Busters which looked fun. Thanks.
