have you ever had friends who are so self-centered?

sometimes friends let you down and they don't even care or say i am sorry but this came up. When you have something come up last minute they make you feel guilty like it was all my fault and that their problems are yours. It's like they are the only ones who exist in this world.

Unfortunately, I have had many friends like this. At least I did in high school. I am at a point now where I would rather have no friends than self centered ones.

That's how I feel too. I'd rather have no friends than self-centered ones. For example, my ex roommate was expecting a package to arrive at our home in the next hour or so. That morning I had litterally fallen down the stairs and couldn't get out of bed (which was upstairs). He actually asked me if I could go answer the door (which was downstairs of course) to accept his package for him when it arrived because he wanted to take a nap! When I said.. ummm... I am kind of glued to the bed right now... I can barely walk, he just looked at me like "yeah right." Then he started arguing with me about how I should help him out so he could take a nap. WHATEVER!

I have had very self centred friends in my life in the past and I would let them take complete advantage of me unfortunately....these days though and for the past probably 6 or 7 yrs I just have no time for ppl like that..I will always be there for those in need, I am a very devoted and loyal friend BUT as soon as I get the feeling its a one sided friendship..its over...

I think that the people that seem self centered are probably completely unaware that they are self centered. It's not a trait people see in themselves easily.

Yeah i know exactly what you mean and it makes you feel bad. It just goes to show you that you cant get too attached to some people. I hate being stood up by a friend, you wait all day and they never call after promising to. It really drives me crazy!

Yes I know what you mean, I think it is a very selfish world, I have noticed a lot of my friends always want the visiting and entertaining and all the socializing done at their place, they insist on you being there but never visit other people, its almost like there home is the world meeting place, I have friends that actually tell me off for not coming to visit them more often as they do other friends and they themselves never visit anyone, it is a very selfish world...
