The other half! I can't figure out where the loophole is! Is it in the 'a half'?

Hello all! I acutally figured it out finally - at least the answer the riddle-maker was looking for - but I'm going to hold out, at least for a while, and see if anyone else comes up with that answer!

I doubt if anyone else is going to come up with an answer. So, what is it?

Just a try. All 33 are boys but they are all gays. LOL!

They must be all girls since otherwise you would have to cut one in half.

Hello SaraCate! Is it possible that all of them are girls such that there are no boys just girls? Or, may be half are girls and half are boys and one is of both sexess?

My guess is either all of them are girls or there's a herphodite in the family who hasn't decided their gender yet lol. But I go with my first answer. All girls, so none of them are boys. :P

Maybe the family has a single parent, the mother. The word "them" refers to the family, so 33(children) + 1 (mother, considered girl) = 34 divided by 2 = 17. So 17 of the children are boys and 16 of the children are girls. Is it?
