Ron Paul's 2 main crippling factors are his naive ideology on foreign policy and the large following of conspiracy theorists that support him. While he has openly denounced the said theories (new world order, 9/11 inside job, etc) they still adhere to him like glue and drag down his credibility as a serious candidate. As for his foreign policy, not many deep down believe that by simply ignoring the world or being nice to everyone or remaining absolutely neutral, they will leave us alone. This is a dangerous belief and all but the most extreme when cornered, don't believe it. It really is too bad. Ron is a man of great character and standing. An impeccable voting record and I agree whole heartedly with his federalist ideology.

great response but i beleive ron paul and his view on foreign policy.i think china is an example-there is not alot of countries around the world wanting to attack china.why? because china is not messing with everyone,so it does work and its so simple-walk softly and carry a big stick.

I saw Dr. Paul speak at the California State Libertarian convention back in 1998, and he pretty much says the same things now that he said back then. You are right. It is refreshing to see a representative who votes the way he believes and campaigns based on what he believes instead of saying what will get him the most votes. But more importantly, he is right about what is wrong with our country.

i am almost afaid to say i support him because i am not the smartest or best person in the world for fear that my support of him might turn people off.they are already saying only kooks are supporting him,and here our local radio stations are even blatantly trying to associate him with quackiness and its all false and misleading.if people would only look at the records of all the candidates, they would clearly see ron paul is the real deal.even if you dont want him for president you should still respect him,he is a very honorable man.at least if mr.paul is around and still willing to serve, our country does still have hope.
