How safe is myLot?

I wanted to do some online banking and when I signed on to my bank link for a split second a pop-up appeared with the myLot ID of a person who had recently been stalking me on myLot. To say the least I was shocked and immediately ran a security scan. What, if anything, would you have done? Reported it to myLot or just ignored it? Has anything like this every happened to you?

Nothing like that has happened to me but I think this is something you must report to mylot because I feel it is a sign that wrong elements are joining mylot with sinister ideas and mylot Admin must know about it!

I agree to academic2.You should immediately report this activity to myLot so that they are aware of it and they take necessary action to deal with it. I am a bit extra cautious with it comes to handling online transactions.

Gee that is scary!!! I would report it I guess... especially if they have been stalking you through this site... maybe mylot would be able to help you somehow with that person? No nothing like this has happened to me before - but I can say I would not want it to at all! I hope you have a good day and that you are not bothered again :)

I do not bank online. Small town, lots of branches, extended hours. Anything that is not automatically deposited, we take care of in person. The only risk I would have would be through my PayPal, which is tied to a bank, but not a credit card. What you say does concern me, though. The stalkers seem to get the good members banned, somehow. Or at least suspended. Please be careful, maybe change some of your passwords with your bank. The other reason we do not even monitor our bank online is that the system often blocks us out. We will make ACH payments by phone, though.

What a spinout whiteheather. What has happened since you started this ...have you been contacted again? How can someone pop up when you sign in to your bank....sounds a bit silly to me. What form did the popup take...the person's username? or avatar? anything with myLot on it? I think if something like that happened to me I would become slightly paranoid. Hope things are ok for you.

No further contact. It was so quick, the ID, no avatar just the name in black on a white background just flashed and then was gone. The person is a young man in China and he had been extremely nasty to me for no reason. He did say he did not like me because of my avatar and I should change it!!!! Needless to say I was quite paranoid until I checked everything out, ran security scans and made sure my firewall and key-logger protection was on.

I definitely would have reported it. I have never had anything like that happen and I would be very worried. I would not let it go.

How do I know that my Keyblogger is on

I ran my Webroot and Norton's spyware, and virus scans. I also made very sure my keylogger block was on as that is a very important feature to always have on.

This sounds really weird...the way you describe it with it popping up like that is if it were a keylogger. I don't know alot about them but I do know that they collect sign-in information from your pc whenever you log into sites. You might run some anti-virus type program. I use Avast which is free and is really good about looking for any virus's, adware, spyware and the such. I'd keep a close eye on your pc and what it's doing and definately keep complaining to MyLot. It's hard to believe that someone would stalk someone over their avatar. I hope it works out for you allright. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

My keylogger block was the first thing I checked. I have explained what happened to myLot but so far no response and knowing how myLot works I do not really expect to get one!!

I know I'd freak out, that's for sure but what I'd do, I don't know. I wouldn't know what to do, really. I guess I'd contact MyLot and my bank both to let each know what had happened for that is very unsettling.

WOW! That would have freaked me out! Did the bank have any idea why this happened? If you didn't contact the online bank, maybe you should! good luck!

Welcome to myLot. Mostly on this site stalkers (trolls) just attack your reputation (Star) and try to get your discussions deleted. As far as stealing your funds clever hackers can do a lot of damage on the Internet you just have to be alert.
