Free Hugs

I saw a thing on television the other day where a group of people made signs that said, "Free Hugs". They took the signs to populated areas like busy streets and malls. The number of people that just looked at the signs and walked on by was amazing. Just as well, the people who took a free hug from the sign holders was equally amazing.
I wonder now, (if I had guts enough to do it), if I set up a sign in my front yard that said 'free hugs', how many people would stop as they were passing by just to get a free hug?
So, I'm going to start here. I'm sending out 'free hugs' to anyone who wants them.

I have seen on youtube where people have done this. I think it's awesome and what people really need.

There is a video by The Dave Mathew's Band with the hug guy. and i am telling you it is the best video ever. I wanted to set up a station and do just that, give out free hugs. it is just a simple and wonderful idea. but i just was not brave enough to do that. Maybe this year I will

I had a visualization of me sitting in my front yard like Mother Theresa just hugging everybody that would stop. How funny. I just don't know if I would have the guts to do it either. Everybody would think I had finally gone way over the edge...LOL

dear momma, This afternoon, before I get on my bicycle to ride to the bar to meet my hubby, I'm going to make that sign, strap it on, and see what happens. A character already, I can't wait for the reactions I'm bound to get! You've got me so excited now! I'll let y'all know what happens later. Till then, free hugs here. Come one, come all. I saw a video like this on YouTube before. I was really pretty cool. You would be surprised at how many people need a hug and don't know where to get one from. Some families don't hug. I come from a family where some hug and some don't. I like hugs. It's like love is totally embracing you.
I would not mind getting signs and starting that in a public place. I don't think everyone would feel comfortable coming to my home and I would not feel comfortable with that either.

Go to the mall......or shopping center or grocery store. I live on a busy street and just wondered how many people would stop. (Everybody in town knows us and knows where we live so I don't have a problem with people stopping by my house).
